Tree stumps

How big are we talking? Usually you'd fell the tree, grind the stump to ground and then either remove with a digger if access allows, or you can get brush-on treatments that kill the growth. SBK is the one that springs to mind though I'm sure there are more brands and products that do the same thing.

having just spent most of the day digging out a 20 year old non flowering cherry , eventually pulling it out with a honda and rope if possible hire a digger lol im exhausted:)

but if you fell energetic i have about 20 conifer stumps all around the front of my drive that need removing .....they can flipping stay lol the trees when taken down last year by me and the wife had been there best part of 35 years and were nearly 60ft high took 2 weeks and 4 roll on skips to remove to stump lvl grrr.

I've been told if you know you're going to remove them with a digger then don't cut them down to ground level. Leave a good amount to give the digger some leverage. Plus you'll be left with quite a large hole to fill depending on the tree!

Well, the don't cut them down too low also applies to smaller trees (say 3m or so).
I've cut down plenty around that size and to remove the roots I now have a nice and heavy digging bar (around 8kg, 2m long about £28 from Toolstation - best investment I ever made for digging), and with being able to get some leverage on the remaining stomp, that works quite well.
Since I dug out the roots, I didn't have to worry about killing anything.
Think my neighbour is of the pour diesel down on it opinion, but think that's messy or he's doing it wrong.

About 20 years ago I needed to get rid of a Rowan tree stump so eventually after my failure with saws and axes my mate came round with a jig-a-pick.
He easily spent two hours on a sunny Sunday afternoon trying to jig-a-pick it out until a neighbour came round a bit pee'd off.
He said if you leave it until tomorrow I'll come with my works truck and a big chain - that did the job.

As above if you're going to dig / digger them out you should leave a length for leverage.

Last December we had about 10-15 removed (I'd felled the trees) and after doing a few myself paid a tree surgeon to come with his stump grinder. Made short sharp shrift of them and I didn't even break a sweat :D

Lol, thank you guys. I think digging out is not really a possibility.
So sounds like best thing is drill holes and pour stump killler down.

I think i was more after reccommendations of best brand to go for. But diggers do sound way more fun. :D

Drill a hole and pour undiluted glysophate down it.

Glysophate is the main ingredient in majority of weed killers.
