just got back in after being in a huge traffic jam.

when i finally got to the front i was totally appauled to see that the council are chopping about 15 mature (over 100 years old each) trees down on the island

now i'm not a tree hugger or anything, but it totally makes me sick how literally thousands of years old trees get simply chopped down in a day :( it was a really pleasent and colourful roundabout in the summer too :(

anyone know who i target my complaint at at the council?

I'm curious as to how 15 100 yr old trees get onto a roundabout

Its a good point. Reason I thought he means the roundabout is that lots of people I know call the bit in the middle of the roundabout "the island" expecially if its grassed and has plants/trees etc.

Thats a bit daft given that there's already things out there that have that name on the roads.

Similar problem up here. A private company wants to install 12x450ft wind turbines on the hill at the rear of my house, the trouble is that there is a large forest there. They want to rip up half the forest to build the turbines. Hmmm, let's stop glaobal warming be ripping up 3 square miles of trees.

I don't even see the point of the turbines in this area as there is a nuclear power station less than 20 miles away.

I forgot why i'd posted in a thread with "trees" as the title...

I read it again, and once again lol'ed

:p
