So after consultation with the mighty Uncle Pete and few words from wise old Kaaps i decided to get a third reference 290 and will soon be amongst the man folk who use three gpu's. I welcome any advice or tips one can offer me or any kind words you might have. Cannot wait to get it in and experience ridiculous amounts of AA/Supersampling and all that stuff.

£270 for a PSU, that's what the graphics card cost. :D

Wouldn't this be enough?

I agree with scotty,, do it once do it right,, you buy the 1200 which then trips one day and your still faced with a upgrade, Save your pennys buy what he suggests then save some more for your water cooling gear

I think you'd be doing yourself a favour trading up. Try Sleeping Dogs... :D

Hah, yeah won't be trying that with a large overclock. That's how i tested this PSU at 1250W with both 290's at 1250 and my cpu at 5.3ghz lol.

I'm sure pack said that 1200W was a beast psu. I will ask him for his two cents.

Meanwhile, may as well give the twins a clog out in preparation. Ignore the vaseline, it's for recreational purposes...ahem.

I have three 290X running overclocked with a 4.8GHz 4770K on a 1000w PSU currently.

no issues at all. the SF unit OP has should be fine

Thanks for the feedback. I will probably upgrade the PSU though, but for now i will make do with the 1000W and reign my overclocks in a tad.

Call me LT or Matt too. I'd like to think I'm more than just your regular OP. :p
