Yea def want to listen to the council meeting. Agreed we need to get Deific in and Kiwi up to speed.

I was pretty nervous going into it expecting them to be like Shaz level but really there just above average pub players mostly.

Those high level sorts of matches happen in #tamixed.pro, the mumble sign ups and #tamixed channel is just for more organised play, nothing super serious.. just to get a feel for competitive play.

I've been invited to #tamixed.pro but nervous about playing with those people, pretty much best players in the EU, all on teams.. probably eat me alive.

HiRezBart just announced a patch that is expected to hit early tomorrow morning.

- Stonehenge (Custom servers - early testing)
- Pathfinder LAR Hold to Fire (Famas CS style)
- First Person Spectate

No doubt a few other goodies too.

Patch notes just dropped.

Tribes Ascend Version 1.0.1016 is expected to be deployed on Friday, June 22. The servers will be down for several hours while the patch is deployed. Below are the preliminary patch notes.

Major Highlights

  • Added support for “lock to player view” while spectating players. This allows you to see what the spectated player target sees. Press ‘L’ by default to lock the view to the player’s viewpoint. Mousewheel in for a first-person perspective.
  • A new TDM map has been added to the list of maps in the Quick Play rotation. (Miasma)
  • A new CTF map has been added to the list of maps available to play on Custom Servers. Stonehenge is a remap of a classic Tribes map. The map is currently in a “beta” state and will be added to the Quick Play rotation after it goes through testing on Custom Servers.

Weapon/Balance Items

  • The Pathfinder’s Light Assault Rifle will now fire bursts from just holding down the fire button, rather than having to repress the fire button for each burst.
  • Increased Rage Perk activation radius by 50%.
  • Decreased effect radius of Raider’s Whiteout grenade by roughly 8%.
  • Decreased damage on Shrike Rockets by 22%.
  • Increased Shrike Rocket damage to armored targets (ex. base turrets, beowulfs) by 30%.
  • Decreased damage on Technician’s Rockwind SMG by roughly 8%
  • Slightly increased the distance from the reticule required for the Spotted command to work.
  • Increased the distance Raider’s EMP grenades can be thrown to match most other grenades.
  • Decreased explosion radius on Pathfinder’s Compact Nitrons by 13%.
  • The Phase Rifle’s downscope reticule has been tweaked and crosshairs added.
  • Raindance: A new route has been added into the generator room.

Additional Items

  • With the help of community feedback, we have reworked some of the mechanics of the emergent gameplay of “rock-bouncing.” The mechanic is more lenient than the last major patch:
    • Bouncing off a rock at an extreme angle is possible again, but the player will lose some of their speed.
    • The “grace angle” for a bounce that loses no speed has been widened
    • We will continue to adjust this feature as needed.
  • Fixed an issue where some Accolades were not being awarded with some of the new variant weapons.
  • Fixed an issue where the Determination Perk was not applying its health boost correctly.
  • Fixed a situation where XP was not being given if the player had left the match early.
  • Fixed an issue where a player could zoom and fire with weapons that don’t allow zooming while firing by holding down zoom through a reload sequence.
  • Fixed bug where the Raider’s NJ5 Reload and Retrieve sounds were not playing.
  • Fixed bug where the Infiltrator’s Remote Arx Buster Reload and Retrieve sounds were not playing.
  • Tartarus High intensity music added.
  • Fixed an issue where the Rage Perk would sometimes not apply when it should have.
  • Fixed an issue where Technician’s Long Range Repair tool was repairing vehicles too quickly.
  • Fixed an issue where rapid projectile fire wasn’t replicating to a spectator viewing the player who was firing.
  • Fixed an issue on Deal of the Day that was incorrectly showing an XP tag.
  • Fixed an issue with the Twitch streams that was causing not all of the active players to be shown.

More good news on rock bouncing and adding an entrance to the raindance base. Really happy by what they are doing for this patch. Crossfire really needs rock routes of some sort.

gg's kiwi, btw i forgot to mention to you, it has crashed to a black screen a couple times, where it just says 'CPU Fan ERROR' ?

Also, good news on the Rain Dance Gen room change!

Erm... I think you should check your CPU fan.

I've checked its RPM and it doesn't dip and when I get a crash, it's never looked as if its been slow - certainly hasn't been stationary.

GG's everyone yesterday. Jim/Brand can you show me some rock routes on Crossfire? Assume you both have some nice back to front gems?

Deific, you mentioned that sometimes the freezes only last 5 sec which could mean HD, graphics card or motherboard.

I think easiest way to work out if it's your CPU is to underclock it ensuring that it is getting as much cool air as possible. If it's still an issue then perhaps start removing stuff from your PC such as a graphics card (you have xfire), all but one stick of ram and so on.

Yea we will have to see how they are now as although they have allowed it a little the rock routes used to be silly. There is a video on YouTube by a friend called matin called crossfire routes or something. Maybe someone on a pc can link you. Will show you how crazy it used to be but if they work again Jim or I can show u. He's better at them than me.

Rock routes still don't work unfortunately, though I did have some luck with the rock behind the Blood Eagle base on Drydock.

HiRez obviously want rock routes to return, but it's going to be hard to make them work and feel the same as they did previously.

I have a feeling if they do manage to fix them the old routes won't work, or at least some won't.

They probably don't have any skilled enough cappers at HiRez to properly test the rock bounce changes they make. :p

Think I must have put in +12 hours yesterday  The lightweight and rage combo is great fun for chasing however I suck with the pathfinder SMG. Jim mentioned that I need to understand how moving effects fire; used a term which I have forgotten now

Lol what level you at now? The difference between how you were when we all started playing with you and now is massive. We're fast tracking you into a decent player. There ain't many level 10's that know back to front grabs at 250+.

Yea that's called inheritance.

Damn right, he did a 300 grab yesterday on BE Katabatic, not sure which route it was but pretty impressive. :p
