might be old news to some but theres an interesting article and video @ http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/50516 regarding demo footage from GarageGames

albeit tribes had a small but very competitive community due to the steep learning curve, featuring jetpacks and skiing which the average fps player found almost alien compared to standard linear gaming.

with the alledged tribes MOD for ET:QW shelved, this could hopefully bring the series back (ok its not from Dynamix as such) after T:V killed off the franchise .. fingers crossed they can pull this off

OMG please please another Tribes! I played Tribes 2 for so long one of my favourite online games. The community was always great, tbh it is the only game in my opinion that has managed to pull off using vehicals so perfectly.

it was released as a free download not so long ago and it doesn't require a serial key anymore .. only problem is finding uk populated servers. I know most of the community still have mixed cluster games now and then , oh and you will need to install DefenseTurret 1.15 iirc but the game sadly is well and truly bereft of life

lets hope they get the balance right with this version as t:v was total and utter poo
 
Just watched the new video. Looks pretty rocking. I missed out on the original Tribes but a friend was heavily into it and it always looked amazing. Rocket jumps also = love as I was always a quake h0.
 
Apparently GarageGames(dynamix people) bought the intellectual property rights for the Starseige universe back from vivend, EA vivendi or whatever its called. Nice to see it in the hands of people who might actually do something with it. Legions is good but not as developed as tribes yet, it hasnt had the manpower, still a great game though.

Can't find any info about a new tribes game yet exept for an april 1st post about a tribes mmo :) .
 
I well up a bit when people talk about tribes or planetside :(

I don't even want them to attempt a sequel, just for them to re-release tribes 2 with a big marketing campaign <3
 
Played tribes vengeance quite a lot when it came out and from what i can remember it was lots of fun. Still got it somewhere. ;)
