Trine 2 is the best looking game I've played, simply gorgeous.

I played it through with my son (age 4, at the time), he loved it, I found the gameplay itself a little boring aside from some of the boss fights. I've been meaning to get the first one, and might buy it whilst it's on offer on Steam, as the boy would love to play some more Trine.

This third one looks to have gone to 2.5D. Looks gorgeous as always, and I'll probably pick it up but maybe not at full price.

Early Access next week

Why Early Access? Developer Frozenbyte explains:"Trine 3 is our first move towards 3D-gameplay in the Trine series," they write, "so we wanted to get in touch with our player-base in an early enough phase to collect feedback on the new gameplay features, so we can tweak those into the right direction. Early Access can hopefully provide us with lots of players willing to do this."
The Early Access version will contain the first two maps, with Frozenbyte promising the full version will be "significantly longer". They hope to launch the full version of the game "during/after summer 2015".

Excellent news! I am a huge fan of the first two instalments, the household consensus is the first slightly edges the second for favourite Trine game (cool baddies) however the best local co-op game (other than Monaco) on the PC :)

Instabuy from me, albeit probably won't play until it's finished...

I love 1 and 2. Only games i've bothered completing in years and more than once. I have tried 3 and i am really not convinced. Just doesn't feel right. The characters seem to float, the graphics don't work as well, the combat with the Knight, imagine a crap Powerstone with only one attack, aiming with the archer is ridiculous and i just don't think the 3D levels work. I know it's early access but not sure they can pull this off.

No its great, just like the second one. Plus its not that long so just play it ;)

How long are the first 2 in play hours?

I'm used to MP games and very rarely venture into SP ones, ive moved house though and currently my internet is dog poop so I'm finding myself switching to a sp game more often, ive actually just started playing "ori and the blind forest" and its surprisingly fun, more relaxing that my general faced paced fps genre I'm used too.

Took about 11 hours for Trine 2 main mission when playing with my son. He was only 4, though, so would be a lot quicker on your own. The "Goblin Menace" extra content took another 5 hours.

To be honest, I wouldn't play it on my own. It's not much of a challenge and I find it boring pretty quickly (I'm a platformer fan generally). Looks stunning, though.

If it's a confirmed ROW key then I will buy one key at £7:D. Best I could get it for was around £8.50 part of a 3 pack.

He's confirmed it as ROW so ill get a 3 pack later and reserve a copy for you in the FOR SALE section of the forum to keep in with the rules.
