The longest I ever held on to a GPU was about 1.5 years and at that point the warranty becomes a selling point. Most people will prefer a GPU with a transferable warranty and in my experience it helps command a slightly better price second hand.

Now that on it's own would not be enough for me to spend the extra £40, but the ACX 2.0+ is a better GPU from the reviews I have read. It's quieter and has a better stock clocks.

Zotac 980Ti AMP! Update: Fans DO turn off at idle.

But there is a catch. Zotac's fans don't turn off at idle, so the card is never silent, and the 90mm trio aren't the quietest, either. Fan speed was recorded as 39 per cent at low-load (roughly 1,350rpm) and increased to 67 per cent (2,350rpm) when gaming.

The above from the Hexus review is incorrect. They do actually turn off at idle. It even has a sticker on the card when you open it that says:

Freeze Tech.
Integrating performance, silence and efficiency into cooling.
REMOVE BEFORE FIRST USE.
Fans will stop spinning in low loads

Yeah, I got mine this morning and was wondering about that. Nice card though, even at 70% fan speed it's still quieter than my reference 980

Got home after a few beers at the pub. Zotac all unwrapped and to cap it off, the haribo was used as the coin toss for eating chilli or getting a pizza.
