I had a conversation earlier this evening with the Gf and this came up.

(As it does! :D )

I dont know off hand what the Russians stats are (But I think they are pretty good! The R7 family launchers are pretty damn reliable) but the US shuttle was basically 1:50 chance of Death!

If you were given the opportunity, would you take the ride??

(I would do it in a heartbeat! Funnily enough the GF was a bit upset about me saying so despite the fact that there is absolutely no possibility of this actually happening! Ho Humm!)

So, Would You!?

Errr yeh?

Who wouldn't

Comes down to cost though, if I had a free or cheap /afordable pass I would be yes straight away

Nope, space doesn't really interest me, as in, sitting in orbit doesn't. I'm not sure I'd have the balls to go on a slim chance mission to Mars or go on the first say close to light speed space voyage out of the solar system(presuming it's ever possible), but that would interest me.

Travelling to other planets or discovering new things, at a certain point I'd consider the risk, but risking life to sit in orbit for a few days, meh.
