I've added a budget game here too which are vastly highly rated imo. Just wondered how much money I've wasted based on hype(a lot in this forum), reviews etc.

Sim City(Latest One)
Alien Isolation
Metal Gear Solid V(I might give this a good go again in 3440x1440)
Bioshock
Bioshock Infinite
Dishonoured
Company of Heroes 1/2
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided/Deus Ex: HR
Dying Light
Farcry 3/4
Hitman series
Project Cars
Total War series
Sleeping Dogs
All Lego games
Super Meatball
Project Cars
Every Assassins Creed except 2/3
Every Call of Duty except Ghosts.
Every Battlefield except 4
Titanfall
Star Wars: Battlefront
Total War series(no RTS since Dune 2 has appealed to me)
Starcraft 2
Diable 3
Max Payne 3
Homeworld Remastered Collection
Her Story
The Banner Saga

I must have wasted at least £300, which surprises me, I thought it would be a lot more. Anyone care to share their room 101 games? Obviously many of you will disagree with my list, but I'm interested to know what games you have wasted money on based on rubbish reviews or hype?

You didnt like Alien Isolation? Wow...that was my game of the year for 2014 !

I think the only games that I bought based on peoples opinions were Assassin Creed and Shadow of Mordor, I didnt get on with either of those games as I just never really clicked with the controls on either game, which both felt very controller orientated and I'm a keyboard/mouser and dont do well with controllers

APB - I still blame a friend for hyping me to purchase that game solely on the character creator

GTA V - I was super excited to get it... then I realised how boring it was. Uninstalled.

From memory, just the one: COD2. I liked the first, so naturally I picked up the second - though paying full price for it was the real mistake (something I very, very rarely do now).

Some games, like Middle Earth: Shadow of Modor, took quite a few tries before I got into it, so I will no doubt give this another blast as I'm now thinking more about what games to actually buy.

It looks like you've taken a list of decent games and just labelled them as a waste of money. Yeah theres a couple of duds in there but most of those are pretty great games.

Must just be differing tastes I suppose.

I really can't think of any... I generally do a lot of research on something before I pick it up to see whether it'll be for me. If it's a console game I've got a friend who sooner or later picks up everything and I'll usually just take a ganders round at his and make a decision based off that.

Maybe Alan Wake? But even then I didn't 'regret' the purchase.

Hardline
Battlefront

Hence why no BF1 purchase from me.

So glad I never got round to ordering Hardline. Battlefront was an absolute joke, think it was 90 odd quid I wasted on that disgrace.

I enjoyed the bf1 beta but no chance am I preordering or even considering the premium from the start.

It's rare I'll buy a new AAA game at full retail price, I usually tend to wait a while for it to get on a sale of some sort.

That said, the only time I've bought one and been burnt is COD:Advanced Warfare. Such a steaming pile of ****.

I will be buying one more full priced AAA (well, slightly cheaper if theres a deal o nthe codes) and that'll be Forza Horizon 3.
