Tron 2 in 2010?

It means that this will be aimed at kids, not adults (= boring). It will have a PG rating, so all the action will be toned down to a few minutes of fun with a Nerf bat. We'll never have to worry about anyone dying because that won't happen. Hard to imagine how any of the main characters will be in any danger at all, tbh.

Remember Hellboy and Hellboy II? Nerfed so badly, they didn't even have any blood! People get shot, stabbed, beaten, etc. in all kinds of beautifully stylised ways, but nobody ever bleeds! :eek: :confused: And why? Because they wanted to keep the rating low to boost audience volumes. Result: lots of utterly nonsensical action in which fatal wounds are no more messy than a slight bruise.

The original Tron was a kids' movie and worked well as a kids' movie. It is still one of my all time favourites. I had hoped that the sequel would raise the bar, but apparently not.
 
Been tracking this for a while - looks like it could be quite epic :D Plus Daft Punk are doing the soundtrack which makes it instantly cooler :D

Blood is pointless though. You could just as easily end up with Watchmen and a load of gratuitous pointless fanboy violence to please the supposedly mature audience.

The original demo trailer for Tron 2 does have a (suggested) violent ending actually although it's not representative of the finished movie.
 
Errr we are still talking about Tron here right? Digital characters so they can die and the gore we get is de-rezing.

The new trailer was awesome. I would say it looks a lot more mature than Tron was.
 
I won't be satisfied with anything less than a profanity-laced bloodbath with wholescale dismemberment.
 
Looking forward to this....with caution though.
I loved the original, and loved the Tron2 pc game. For anyone who likes nostalgia the game totally immerses you with the familiar way the suits light up and the music and atmosphere, brilliant.
I don't want to build my hopes up on this in case it blows a$$ hard!

This is quite possibly the movie remake that iMax / 3d was invented for.

Proper geek entertainment. I wonder if the new kids will get into it too ?
