Tropico 6

^^^^^ sounds good.
Decided to pre-purchase it myself. I'll wait for the release before I try it out.
 
I've only played the beta for about an hour on the tutorial, but I like it so far.

Obviously not played it long enough to form an opinion on how good/bad the economics side of things are, but mechanically and graphically I like it.

Small criticism, I'm gonna have to make some minor changes to the xbox controller button mapping as at standard settings, you can't do full PTZ of the camera without reaching for the keyboard.
 
Well you can do pan tilt zoom from the pad, but it seems if you want to rotate, you have to use the keyboard so I might have to remap one of the analog sticks
 
Well if the beta is anything Togo by I am really looking forward to this. The mission with the volcanoes in the middle of the map was really fun. Roll on tomorrow !
 
I see that it should be released around 5:00pm tomorrow. Looking forward to that.
Not having bothered to play the beta it will be interesting to see how this plays.
I was surprised to see that the key I entered in Steam, from CD-Keys, allowed access to the beta version as well, thought that was only accessible to those who paid extra for that...? Doesn't matter tho as the game is out tomorrow.

I completely agree. Haven’t played too much, but from what I have seen so far it is fantastic if you are into these games. Lots of new features that I really like with some of the best missions in the series. Liking the era progression much more too.

Can hopefully play some tomorrow night.

Play one off them years ago and like it , more i see on number 6 i want it ....... think i will hit the buy button ...
 
Cities skylines is more of a proper sim.
Tropico is not as deep but with a lot of humour, and more accessible.
Tropico 6 is just more fun to play for me, as I don't have time to sink hundreds of hours into perfecting a good city in skylines.
 
Will be picking this up. Feel like these games allow you to add more personality to your creations, rather than Skylines where it's a case of figure out/look up the mathematically perfect block and then replicate indefinitely.

Yes, definitely. Having a lot of fun so far. Only in the first era.
