First time playing this game about 1 hour in to the first mission island and so far so good Really good Graphics , Am I right in saying you have to go and setup the Trade exports every time the boat leaves or will it do it on its own ?

I've currently built up 4 Log camps and have been selling wood but Pineapples seem to be going for a good export price so just built up 4 Pineapple farms, still learning everything but really enjoying this one.

It will leave on its own, but at a base 0% rate. So no bonus.

Pineapples are a little cheaty if you can build up the infrastucture (and upgrade them to increase their efficiency - currently works island wide). You need a lot of teamsters though!

Boats are a good way to go in the later eras. Don't forget to look at the other trade tabs - the sell price is useful to workout the best goods to export.

Did the first island, now go to the next one and do it all again.

It's not a bad game by any means, but this has been the game design for as long as I can remember and it's just way to samey for me.

This is true. But...

I got the game on my free Origin Access, and it's been on my Steam wishlist for yonks so it was a good opportunity to try it out.

I felt the same as you at first. Played the first map, started the second and thought "you know, I've done all of this too many times before now" (I played 3, 4 and 5 with all the expansions with over 30 hours in each).

But - my mind kept wondering back to it. So I loaded it up again, and next thing I know I'd played through two maps, three hours had gone by and I was the only one in the house still up.

Guess it's still got the power to pull me in...
