I have got memtest , switched ram to 2x2gb kingston sticks and the problem still occurs dramatically is it worth running the test?

I will repeat until dead: TOP ASUS MOTHERBOARDS REQUIRE (just require, period) KNOWLEDGE OF QVL.

http://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/CROSSHAIR_IV_EXTREME/HelpDesk_QVL/

Difference between top Asus mobo and rest - is you simply can't use ANY memory you like. Sometimes chances are 50/50, but in many other cases - it causes delirium :>

Column C is important as well as it says which stick will work in configuration of 4.

I definitely think your onto something with the qvl
As looking at it its says nothing which denotes 4x4gb system I'll have to cross check the venders list to see if either of my ram sets are on their

So from that qvl the most ram you can use is Kingston 12gb
And it looks like my Corsair CMZ8GX3m2A1600c9
Is not compatible with my board..damnit
Any recommendation on what ram to install from the qvl as this men test is showing all is well.

Literally have had this ram in for maybe 2 years and nothing bad has occurred until recently .

If the ram you have has worked fine for 2 years as you say then I would suspect that the memory controller voltage needs a few clicks more as suggested above - or maybe the memory controller on the cpu(pardon me if it is not on the cpu) is getting flaky. In which case either board memory controller or chip controller is starting to fail? Maybe a bios update may help with compatibility of your ram - check with Asus(contact them and ask).

You could also have a look on the Asus Rog forums for info on this issue.

Hope this helps

Mark

I've completed a 8 pass sweep using memtest on all 4 sticks of ram and in all slots and no issues were found.

Ive attached a photo of my current settings you mentioned a few clicks increase in the ram voltage which is dram right? The ram is already rated at 1.5v and its auto set at 1.561

The bios is updated to the latest one but as mentioned the ram I've selected is not on the qvl. Haven't contacted Asus as they want details on serial numbers etc .

So as I've gone so far what next would you suggest?

Thanks for your help

Have you tried a different GPU ? There looks to be some graphical corruption on that picture you linked, would make sense as to why the system was crashing.

The corruption may be due to the photo as it was taken almost fractions of a second before it shut down. But I haven't tried an alternative gpu, I've also checked after it reboots it says about the computer shut down unexpectedly would you like. To trouble shoot... Click yes nothing comes from it .

Why are you all going on about the RAM ?
Did you actually try and google klim6.sys as this is causing the BSOD. Its part of Kaspersky. Have you got this installed ? Either uninstall it or get it updated. Then see if that fixes it.
if you can upload the mini dumps somewhere (found in c:\windows\minidump) I can analyze them for you.

Varkanoid you maybe onto something , I do indeed have kaspersky and I did a little looking into and said it has occurred for others . I'm going to uninstall kaspersky and reinstall the latest version. I'll then attempt to crash the computer and see if we have a positive outcome if not I'll post up the dump data

Well spotted - I have only just noticed that in the blue screen image. This indeed looks to be the likely culprit.

So i Uninstalled kaspersky and installed the latest and attempted to crash and like clockwork it did and this time i was prepared and took a better snap.

WHO CRASHED REPORT

23 crash dumps have been found and analyzed. Only 10 are included in this report. 2 third party drivers have been identified to be causing system crashes on your computer. It is strongly suggested that you check for updates for these drivers on their company websites. Click on the links below to search with Google for updates for these drivers:

e1q62x64.sys (Intel(R) Gigabit Adapter NDIS 6.x driver, Intel Corporation)
klim6.sys (Kaspersky Lab Intermediate Network Driver, Kaspersky Lab ZAO)

If no updates for these drivers are available, try searching with Google on the names of these drivers in combination the errors that have been reported for these drivers and include the brand and model name of your computer as well in the query. This often yields interesting results from discussions from users who have been experiencing similar problems.

Read the topic general suggestions for troubleshooting system crashes for more information.

Note that it's not always possible to state with certainty whether a reported driver is responsible for crashing your system or that the root cause is in another module. Nonetheless it's suggested you look for updates for the products that these drivers belong to and regularly visit Windows update or enable automatic updates for Windows. In case a piece of malfunctioning hardware is causing trouble, a search with Google on the bug check errors together with the model name and brand of your computer may help you investigate this further.

Myself, I'd uninstall Kaspersky completely then reboot. Ensure it is completely removed by running Kasperky's removal tool. Again reboot.

Download your network card drivers, and have the drivers ready - don't install them yet. Uninstall any Intel network software from Add/Remove programs in Control Panel. Reboot, then open Device Manager, right click your network adapter and click Uninstall - when prompted, tick the box which also deletes the driver software and press Ok. Reboot again.

If it were me, I'd run CCleaner and remove left over files, then run a register scan in CCleaner to help get rid of any entries that might not need to be there. After another reboot, reinstall your network drivers.
