Any wagers on how long it will be before their server crashes?
honestly none of the free titles interested me until now
Is that not competition though? they fought for an exclusive, got it and are giving it out for free for the first 24 hours?they complain because we will end up with a world where steam, origin , ubisoft, epic, and whoever else are going to be fighting each other for exclusives if this keeps on.
it's a crappy business practice, if they thought the epic launcher was any good they wouldn't try to force adoption on people.
how can you defend it like its a good thing and a benefit to gamers.
what do you think would happen if epic suddenly became the dominant publisher.
yea I'm sure they would still be giving people carrots instead of sticks
competition encourages progress, something epic don't seem to like.
oh we have a problem lets throw money at it

i have too much crap on steam I paid for and still didn;t plau and never will.I find that a funny attitude to have. If games are free, just add them anyway. You never know if in a couple of moths/years someone starts gushing about a game, you may already own it and be able to give it a go. I found that happened with Subnautica.
couldn't care about any of thoseBecause they were titles that you already had? I mean there has been some real corkers given away for free, most notably Subnautica, Kingdom Come Deliverance, Overcooked, Soma and Surviving Mars, though yeah not much use if you already have them

not collecting games for the same of it, it's a waste of time

maybe I would have enjoyed subnautica but I didn't really feel like playing it.Ah, not your sort of games? Well that's fair enough, if those are your types of games then I guess they aren't of much use either.

By doing that you (and I mean this generally, not you specifically) are basically telling Epic you agree with it's practices, I don't personally so I am just avoiding it, and anything that gets released on it.
Plenty of good games still coming to Steam, if something is free then you are the product, nothing is given freely out of the goodness of their hearts. It's a bribe by another name.
Saying this, people can do what they want, I would not try and force people not to, everyone can make up their own minds on this one.
Tbh a lot of what they are giving away, or have given away, has also been on the game pass, so I'd prefer to just play the titles there.
I'd much rather play a game on Epic than game pass myself. I've not had too many issues with game pass, but enough that if I have a choice, Epic it is.

I can see the logic in your thinking, its not a choice I could follow though. If I refused to buy from companies whose practices I disagreed with I'd end up with nothing at all. I certainly would end up not having Sky Sports or BT Sports, definitely wouldnt have Netflix or Amazon Prime, almost certainly wouldnt have half the white goods in my house, most likely wouldnt have my car, wouldnt have flown on half the airlines to holidays that I've had over the years and so on. Its an admirable standpoint you have but I just cant apply that way of thinking to my life as I would simply miss out on far too much and make my life much harder than it is, and I guess at that point, once I have bent my principles for one company, its a case of in for a penny in for a pound.
Never tried the Total War series games although now this is the perfect opportunity, why is it free though?
Really?
It's a great way to bring in new players and boost sales for dlc's and future games.
Yup... Really!
My uncle is into these games and I never really battered an eyelid at them until this was announced, might take a peak on YouTube later. What was the last one they released as I've noticed there are quite a few of them!
