Trueaudio

No I pointing out this happens with tech like this.. Things take time..
Would we all wish every game releases had TrueAudio, TressFX, PhysX. Yeah why not, but sadly it's not that easy..

Am perfectly happy with the odd game here and there so long has they come..
 
I don't even want every game release to have X or Y.
We're talking one title a year, if that. It's pathetic, and it's just typical AMD. Their tech generally goes nowhere. Mantle's the exception as of so far.
I'm so glad you're happy with 1 title here or there, must me amazing to be so easily impressed.

personally I think if they made one good fps using the directional sound stuff it would have really showcased it and maybe = profit for game makers

a tactical fps is where it belongs!

If the tech goes no where, how can it be described as anything other than a fail? It's a fallacy to consider it any other way.

if the tech works I don't see how the blame should be pointed at AMD
unless your point is they should be spending many millions to showcase it in the hope a game maker living in a cave never saw it

I blame game makers for only token uses of PhysX and the same for trueaudio etc

is lack of good games the hardware suppliers fault!? really?

Howd you you know the they have failed with thier tech? Have you had first hands on with it? Seen it working? The problem is its early days and also not many game devs are keen to incorporate it into thier games because it involves more work on thier behalf although it could make thier game all the more emersive and more impressive. From recent times its apperent they are not botherd about making great games just games that make the money roll in.

And you said tech like this. Well as shankly put it you dont see many titles tolling out with physx and that is tech like this. So you could essentially put it in the same boat. How long as physx been available compared to true audio and tressfx?

Just the usual susepcts having a dig at amd any chance they get.
 
True Audio is proprietary tech (It works on like only a handful of AMD GPU's as it is), it would need AMD investment to be used in a game, because no developer is randomly going to use it for a tiny market.

So, I'd consider its failings AMDs fault.

Well, if the tech is barely featured in games, how can it ever be considered anything other than a fail? I think True Audio and TressFX had potential. But even when AMD were ranting and raving about TressFX, I said it'd get like one game and go like no where. TressFX launched with Tomb Raider 2013, it's gone no where since, except Lichdom (Which is like Mantle being used in Plants Versus Zombies, a win. But for other reasons).

I think hardware accelerated physics (And by extension ; PhysX) is failing on the most part. However, Nvidia do cough up money to get hardware accelerated PhysX effects in games (Dribs and drabs). And PhysX (CPU side) is used quite regularly in games, the two scenarios aren't the same.

And I don't see Mantle as a failure currently. It has the most sustained support of any AMD venture (Software wise) thus far.

TrueAudio is in APU's as well, so it can actually be used whilst using a discrete gpu from a different vendor.

ok I can accept that argument
but it would still be amazing in a tactical fps, would make the game!
to me that annoys me bcos all I see is game makers care about $$ way before making a good game
what happened to making a good game then watch the community grow

but your argument is the market is too small, and maybe amd was too slow, atleast that makes a little sense why you blame amd now!

I don't see people lining up to build an Nvidia gaming system with a Kaveri as the CPU choice (Or frankly using it as a base for most GPU's that don't support True Audio). You wouldn't expect them to either.

Although, I was unaware that True Audio would still work with Kaveri when paired with a none True Audio GPU. But it doesn't really change much. I don't really like to talk about APU's when it comes to potential marketshare. Developers would be taking a massive risk to take the marketshare value without heavily extrapolating.
