Trust PSU

errr, what?

The bequiet is a better psu, the cx builder series from corsair is not as good as the previous corsair psu's. Even at teh same wattage itd be a better psu.

Why isn't the CX430 as good? The ONLY problem with it, is the low +12v capacity, apart from that, the electrical performance is pretty good. How do you know the BeQuiet is better? Cause it has MOAR WATTS?

:o

Why do you think most of the wattage should not be on the +12v?

I said the exact opposite.

but they are both unimpressive due to the anemic +12v capacity on both of them.

How exactly are they anemic on the 12v though? What other PSU's at those wattage's have significantly more (I am not arguing, im asking as I havent looked).

the CX430 is made from poor components, isnt 80+ certified, has the lowest warranty of any corsair psu they have ever released (due to cheaper components). Its still made by a good company for corsair, but they were trying to make a cheaper model and as such had to skimp on the internals. It is an ok PSU, its just not as good.

I say the Bequiet is better (at the same price) due to reviews I have seen around, the amount of people that recommend it on here, and yes, it does have more watts, meaning it can supply more power if needed allowing more headroom for gpu upgrades in future and/or capacitor ageing if its going to be used for a long time (the caps in the bequiet are better than in the cx).

When the Bequiet is more expensive, its not worth the extra if you dont need it, but it is better when they are within £1 of each other.

I know I shouldn't feed the troll but..

The BeQuiet 530 more than the Corsair 430. For that £1 you get a stronger 12v rail, better components, higher efficiency and better reviews from users.

Better components: Yes. More efficient: Yes. Less waste heat: Yes. Quieter: Yes. Stronger 12v rail: Yes... oh.. MOAR WATTS: yes.

All for £1?

Even Trolls should see the reasoning behind choosing the BeQuiet

A 430W with 336w on its +12v can be treated as a 380-400w, cause the +12v is where most of the load is. With modern systems you wont have more than about 30-50w load on the 3.3v and 5v rails.

And you can treat the BeQuiet like a 450-470w. The Stealthxstream II's and various low-wattage Corsair/Antecs have sensible ratings.

So what if it isn't certified 80+? That has no indication of quality. The CX430 is based off the low wattage CWT DSAII platform. The components used are adequate for its wattage. JG and HWS both reviewed it and it was just fine.

Show me these reviews that you have seen "around". Make sure they at least include transient stage, voltage regulation, ripple/noise suppression tests, and a build quality analysis.

As I said, more watts doesn't mean better. It depends if the OP is going to end up using the extra power or not.

Fact: Most "enthusiasts" don't know anything about Powersupplies.

Better components? Do you have any proof or are you just parroting what you heard other people say about the CX430? Oh, and it's slightly more efficient, that's it. Call me a troll all you like, but I'm sick of the amount of misinformation in this forum when it comes to PSU's.

If the OP is going to actually use the extra power that the BeQuiet gives, then by all means go for it. But if he has a low power rig (A 5770 rig will consume <300w DC power) then the CX430 is better. Buying watts you wont use is a waste.

Edit: The Stealthxstream II 500 is better than the BeQuiet, anyhow. Here's the 600w review:http://www.kitguru.net/components/p...stealthxstream-2-600-w-power-supply-review/4/. The 500 and 600w ones are on the same platform so they perform identically.

For the sake of a single pounds you'd be crazy going for the inferior Corsair. The Corsair PSU isn't even 80Plus certified whereas the Bequiet is and over it's lifespan will save you considerably more than a quid in electricity bills.

The one that I linked to is 80 PLUS certified according to the information given about the product;
