TSO Down?

I did see a Tweet that bluesquare is the Lidl of Data centers. I want to know what they mean by that.

Anyone having issues with ftp ? I can currently connect but I get 0 files and folders listed.

Ah, just seen update :( All this honestly couldn't have happened at a worse time.

Many thnaks for the offer. Have just emailed a client some screenshots, should be ok.

Stuff like this really makes you appreciate how reliant upon tsohost I am.

Me to... Not really sure what else can be done without huge expense.

The only thing I could suggest is to 50:50 spread your clients from different providers.

Yer, I've discussed that with my boss before. Was thinking over using maybe heart internet for less complex, static websites (E.g. your run of the mill 5 page info site) and tsohost and maybe 34sp for the more complicated ones.

But on the other hand, using 2 supplies doubles your risk of problems so always a balance.

How do you mean? Wouldn't it half the risk. Say you have 50% of your customers with you and 50% with another company in a different data house then if the first server went down only 50% of your customers would be ringing you :)

Also, whats the latest on the UPS? Is the generator fully fueled?

Yer true. To be fair to tsohost though their support has been absolutely excellent throughout the years I've used them. Also, this issue at the data center isn't their fault either.

It could be seen as double the risk as you have greater chance of something failing. If you were to use two suppliers you have your customers in two different data centers, more routers, more servers etc. There's simply more to go wrong.

I think this is the first network outage for TSOHost for many years, I don't think a knee jerk reaction to move some of your customers elsewhere would be a great move. IMO of course. :)

Using Heart internet would be a backward step imo. They're not going to be as good as TSOhost / Vidahost etc. They oversell and attract plonkers with there unlimited offers. Not a good thing.

Definately, I personally only use them for domains. Was just an idea to move a few small sites to them.
