Indeed, suppliers prefer this and you will earn their respect in emailing them with feedback. Having some external monitoring reports would also help your case.

TSOHost are not Vidahost.

. Use the same network though IIRC.

ok it's just i got a messege the other day saying they will also be down for a while so thought maybe they are one company or something

Down again. Awesome. Really I have no problem if you need to do maintenance as it's something that has to be done. But not telling me about before hand is rather annoying.

Tsohost and Vidahost use the same network/datacentre space, so we [Vidahost] were offline for a short period as well.

Current downtime appears to be a network issue since all our London operations, and Tsohost's site, are unavailable. But I'm sure the problem will be fixed sharpish

Infact, while typing, it's all back. That's why we use Adz's company

My sites are up and down like a yoyo lately. Lets hope this is just a bad period and the usual high quality service will be back to normal soon.

hehe. I actually recommended tsohost to a mate today. I just log in to check my blog and whallah, tsohost are down

Yup me too. Never had any problems before and my minor questions to support were always answered very fast.

Do you keep your email address updated in cpanel?

Not sticking up for them but I've been caught out with the above.

Personally I like to see status pages with announcements and network traffic light systems.

Server 'Kylie' was intermittently down for about 4 minutes due to a rogue script which was promptly dealt with. This is being replaced with a new quad CPU server in a few weeks in line with our other machines.

Ah, ok I should have waited longer. I only notice so quick because whenever tsohost goes down my forums send a bunch of automatically generated emails warning me of "database errors".
