Tube beggars

Sometimes its really dodgy whether they are for real or not.

However once when I was in Germany, I'd bought one iof those huge french baguettes from a bakery. As we walked through the train station (Before going through any barriers) I decided I just didn't want it (After about 3 bites). I was about to throw it away in a bin when I saw someone who obviously appeared homeless. I thought... "Why not, either way it's better than binning it", because tbh he really REALLY was a sorry sight. So I handed him the bread and let him know it was for him, and then walked off, checking back about 20 metres ahead before rounding the corner, I noticed he was still just sat there holding it, and looking at me with what appeared to be wonderment, but it could have been anything.
5 minutes later some mates also walked into the train station past him, one of them dropped him a couple of euros. Apparently he was just finishing off the bread.

It made me feel happy that I had probably done something good :)

I've seen him before down there, he has started on a lot of people and turned aggresive quite a few times. Best time was when he did it to some foreign couple and the husband turned round and nutted him.

Sometimes thats the only sort of language that these people understand.

Yep, better to give food than money. The worst is when you give them money and they buy alcohol. Now that makes me mad.

Personally I hate beggers, bad experience of one basically one tried to stab me!!!!!

Me and a friend were out in town sort of late afternoon/early evening walking back to the car park, theres a guy slumped on the floor...... and can cleary see from his appearence he is a massive drug user, which I'm assuming was probably smack due to his horrible pale complexion and skin and the fact he was as thing as the drainpipe he was next to.

He mutters something along the lines of 'got any change lads' we look back and say sorry we aint and carry on.... he then pipes up 'well f*ck you then!!!'

I little shocked I see this turning bad and pick the pace up but my mate could not help himself, turns round and gives him that typical line 'hows about trying to get a job like everyone else' not liking this the guy manages to get up after what seemed like ages of him trying to pull himself up (either very drunk or out of it on something) walks in our direction and pulls a lock knife, opens it up and takes a very wild plunge in our direction.... I'm martially arts trained (thank god) and instinct took over, I side stepped him pushing the knife arm away and hooked him with my right hand twice, once in his ribs and then to the side of his head, this knocked him to the ground. I was trained to basically finish the job by hurting him more by stamping his arm or breaking a finger etc etc to basically give them the message to not follow me or it will get worse........... but as he was on the floor I could see he was so out of it I left him there and we made a sharp exit....... about 5 minutes later I realised what had just happened and that either of us had nearly been stabbed and kind of went into a mild shock when the adrenaline had worn off, a few stiff drinks were in order when I got home.

We were lucky, not just because of my training but him being out of it aswell.... will never forget that moment. Horrible....... gave my mate a right shouting at for winding the guy up but anyone could have said the same thing, a single woman or a teenager etc etc who would have not known what to do.

Since then if I spot beggars in advance no matter how innocent or bad they look I give them a wide a berth as possible and will even change my route if I have to.
