The first Saab Turbos back in the 70s had a key you could use to turn the turbo off so you could lend your car to your son and he wouldn't have all the performance.

slightly OT doesn't the Veyron need some kind of key operation to hit it's top speed?
 
Yes, you need to do something to lower the rear spoiler (and lower the car a bit too I think), which iirc can only be done when the car is stationary
 
Revo stage 2 im sure has a "Valet" oprion which turns off the turbo via a switch on the plug in SPS, so when you take it into a garage they cant ragg it, or am i thinking of something else?
 
Tickford Capri in the 70's had a key that disabled the turbo's too. Hell, Corvettes in the 50's/60's (I think) came with full/low power keys too.
