I'd still own a DC5 despite that idiot (although I'm slightly put off by the fact that standard vs. standard a DC2 is probably just as fast for much less money - but that's a discussion for another day).
DC2 & DC5 cornering speed is much the same, but the DC5 is noteably faster on the straight, therefore the DC5 is the faster car - as you'd expect with the power differential.
Gay tyres most likely. DC2 back in the day ran RE010, DC5 came with RE040's OE, which were crap. I switched to RE010's on the DC5 and the front end was nailed to the road.

I find the same with my DC5. Running Eagle F1s GSD3 it is very hard to get the front end to under steer in dry conditions.
Merlin is right here, the DC5 has a better power:weight ratio and a very similar suspension set-up. In the real world, the differences are negligible but they are there
