My dad always cooks up great big one in coke then glazes it in the oven, anything leftover usually disappears around about the time I come back home strangely.

Or anything you want, slow roast venison shoulder was amazing last year.

Aldi or Lidl for a Goose (expect to pay £30-50). You could also do Duck, Asda usually sell them for a fiver this time of year.

Duck & Goose are two good alternative options. I love turkey and can't/won't have Christmas without it but we usually do have another meat alongside the bird. Usually beef or gammon.

Another vote for beef (preferably rib) - duck is also good but could be slightly lacking in meat.

Or, as above, if it doesn't have to be a roast how about a game pie?

I thought you get quite a large portion per person from a Poussin. And everyone gets the theater of carving their own. Anyway, it was only a suggestion.
