Using your home’s existing electrical circuit, TP-LINK’s TL-PA8030P KIT AV1200 3-Port Gigabit Passthrough Powerline Starter Kit turns any electrical socket into an Internet connection. Simply plug into your wall socket and you are ready to enjoy HD streaming and gaming, no configuration required. You also won't lose a socket with its integrated pass through socket included! With speeds of up to 1200Mbps for smooth Ultra HD streaming, online gaming or faster downloads, TL-PA8030P KIT is a perfect home entertainment companion.

1200Mbps! Perfect for Bandwidth Demanding Activities

With its advanced HomePlug AV2 technology, TL-PA8030P KIT is introducing a powerline generation for even faster data transmission in the home network. TL-PA8030P KIT supports 2x2 MIMO* with beamforming, so users benefit from ultra-fast data transfer speeds of up to 1200Mbps. Perfect for bandwidth demanding activities like streaming Ultra HD video to multiple devices simultaneously, online gaming and large file transfers. *The Multiple Input Multiple Output functionality within HomePlug AV2 significantly improves data transfer rates especially during peak periods. It uses any two electrical wire lines within a 3 wire network to boost performance.

3 Gigabit Ports for Maximum Connectivity

With 3 gigabit Ethernet ports, TL-PA8030P KIT can simultaneously connect up to 3 wired-only devices. This makes the TL-PA8030P KIT the perfect home entertainment companion. Connect any 3 devices from smart TVs and games consoles to NAS boxes and computers to the Internet at the same time. Just plug the Ethernet cable into the powerline and away you go!

Extra Power Socket for Additional Devices

Where sockets are at a premium, the TL-PA8030P KIT with an integrated AC pass-through power socket, means the powerlines can be used like a traditional electrical socket. Plug your smart TV or games consoles into the powerlines, as if it were a normal plug socket. No socket needs to go to waste. The built-in noise filter helps to prevent electrical signal noise from affecting powerline performance.

Plug and play, no configuration required

TL-PA8030P KIT is easy to use as follow: 1. Plug a powerline adapter into a wall socket and connect it to the router, via an Ethernet cable. 2. Plug another powerline adapter into a wall socket in another room and connect it to your Internet enabled device via Ethernet - and you are done! The powerline adapters will automatically connect to extend your network. The “Pair” buttons on the powerline can also be utilized for securing or managing multiple powerline adapters in your home powerline network.

Reduce Power Consumption by Up to 85%

TL-PA8030P KIT, a new-generation of powerline adapter, with its practical design and sophisticated Power-Saving Mode, will automatically switch from its regular "Working" mode to "Power-Saving" mode reducing its energy consumption by up to 85%*. *Actual data will vary in different network conditions and environments.

Is there a cheaper version that would do similar? A friend has a lead from his router to his livingroom and it's not an ideal setup. Can't see him coughing up £80 though for this even though it's a good idea. Would this be faster than a wireless setup?

You can also get adaptors with a built in wireless connection. If you mix and match speeds they all run at the speed of the slowest. I use them around my house (not as fast as these mine are only AV500) and they work great. I believe it will depend upon how good the wiring is in your house.

Not trying to dump on the thread, but in the interests of accuracy and fairness, in my experience, these really are not suitable for gaming. General web browsing and downloads perhaps, but they drop the connection far too frequently to rely upon. A wired connection or wireless would be better.

I've not had any problems with these for gaming yet, may sound bias as I am staff, but I have this exact pair, and I play CS:GO constantly on them with no drop outs, lag or any other inconveniences.

Are you talking about these particular sets? Or is it a different model that you had before?

I have some TP Link plugs as my wifi wouldn't reach to my office, Using virgin media and getting around 90-95mbps on a 100 mbps connection. Ping is around 5 to 15ms ping.

^^ Its cheaper than a new mechanical Keyboard and mouse when you hammer em with your fist due to lag!!!

Solid investment in my eyes!!

I have a pair of cheaper TP-Links, and I have never noticed internet dropouts. They are generally very good! Even if they do keep blowing up! :p

They're perfect for gaming in my experience, pings similar to being connected directly with ethernet cable but without the hassle of having to actually run said cable. WiFi tends to be far more temperamental.

I have a 200 link set, and they are absolutely fine for gaming. I've no issue with CS:GO, TF2 or diablo 3 at all and they ping absolutely fine.

I find mine are the same but strangely enough it only seems to drop occasionally when I am not using any bandwidth. When gaming or downloading I have never experienced a drop, though do sometimes when browsing.

I think the culprit is my wiring and my kids monitor. When it goes off, my internet goes off.

They are not an ideal solution as hard wiring is always the best but in my house, it is the best option by far as wireless is pants for gaming.

As an OcUK employee you would!! lol :D

Of course, but I mention this particular set as I purchased these for myself a few weeks ago. But from seeing other replies from people who have the same set seem happy with them too for gaming. :)

Unfortunately I cannot comment on the other models, as I've not tried them.

Fair comment

My pair cost me just £15 and work much better than the wireless that it took over.

Might be tempted to upgrade to a better set once my internet speed gets upgraded. Will give it a comment in the hopes of winning!
