Turning off GMail Threading

I love the threading - much easier to keep track of everything!

Still, nice gmail are continuing to develop and improve

Blimey, Google giving their users and option to change something as opposed to it being forced on them. I say that with a huge dose of sarcasm obviously, but in recent times changes have been put upon users instead of being given the option. Point in case, recent layout changes to the left side. Which still look ugly, yet complaints have fallen on deaf ears.

Weird they've chosen to listen to this one, I think threading is one of the best features of GMail. Find it very easy to locate a specific message thread, then a message within a thread. Certainly a lot easier than wading through loads of emails with the same subject.

Still each to their own I guess. :)

I'm not a fan of threading myself, though I'm starting to get used to it. I'll probably miss it when I turn it off.

So so so happy.

I like threading, but it doesn't work well if you have people sending emails with the same subjects but multiple times to different people, and then you need to trace those replies. I've had so many very difficult to follow conversations that I am glad to be able to turn it off.

Gmail rocks, I actually MUCH prefer the new left hand side layout, it's more logical thn before too and the autosave features as well as liveview of Gdocs when sharing documents and someone makes a change OH AND livechat within Gdocs so you can chat with people viewing the same doc!

Stop sending same mail to multiple people multiple times then

Fantastic news, threading has been my one bugbear with Gmail since day one, this definitely cements me as a Gmail user for the foreseeable future.

This, but it's not a very good view tbh

It doesn't group them as cleverly as gmail does
It's not too bad, though - you should've tried the Beta. That was apalling. I had all sorts of random unrelated messages grouped together just because they all had 'blank' subjects.

I have a dilemma now over what I delete - as a reply automatically quotes the original message, but conversation view (helpfully) ignores this quoted part. But if you delete nothing, you end up with a very large mailbox!
