The shield

Saw a few episodes of this on C5, seemed very gritty and hard going, exactly my kind of thing, thanks for the reminder :D

Prison Break has not finnished their is going to be a 2nd series to it

Yup...I knew about that, but it won't be back until the autumn...final episode of season 1 aired last monday and it's frankly left a big gaping hole :(

scrubs, grey's anatomy, house, hustle, hotel babylon, csi, red dwarf & malcolm in the middle all good for wasting time

Couldn't get along with scrubs, my girlfriend has just got me into GA, House annoys me cos of that english bloke trying to be american...Hustle was a little too cheesy, Hotel Babylon seemed devoid of any characterisation and as for Malcolm in the Middle, don't get me started, anyone else want to put a bullet in that kids head :p

House is a must if you like ER and Prison Break and the like, with added Hugh Laurie :D

That's who I was trying to think of in my last post, cheers!

The 4400 - Invasion is like the runt sibling of this top-notch drama about people who were abducted, given special powers, then dumped en masse back on earth

I saw the first 3 episodes and it didn't feel like it was going anywhere so gave up on it, sci-fi seems to be sadly lacking these days, BSG aside...they should bring back B5, the greatest sci-fi ever :D

The Grid - a one off mini series from the BBC/Fox, similar in plot style to cross between 24 and Spooks (which again I recommend you see), centring on counter terrorism forces of the UK/USA working together to diffuse a terrorist plot.

Very much sounds like my kind of thing, another one for the list ;)

House for sure. It's not too late to get into it, and you can work out most of what's happened.

I've been watching the US episodes, which are a bit ahead of the ones out so far in the UK, so I'm not sure what episode we're on now. Start of series 2, I think. :)

Greenwing is apparently pretty good too, although I've never watched it.

The Obvious Answer:

Stargate SG-1
Stargate Atlantis

the SG1 boxsets can be picked up cheap now :)

Best Sci-Fi ever, SG1 entering its 10th season in July and Atlantis its 3rd plenty to keep up with (dont start atlantis till you start season 7 of SG1 as you may get confused)

And start with the Stargate film first as the pilot leads on from that.

Sadly I should have added SG-1 to my on the fence list, sometimes it verges on excellence, other times it just treads water. I think the problem is the main characters...they just plain annoy me with the exception of maybe Teal'C.

I did sit through the first 3 seasons on DVD, but just couldn't bring myself to watch S4 sadly...there wasn't enough to keep me hooked.

I did love the original movie however!

you make me cry :( SG1 rocks..O'Neill is a legend :D

/me puts on thinking cap again

/edit

and how Family Guy can be "on the fence" is beyond me, its fantastic.

Have you thought of southpark, more so the later seasons 6-10(current) its fantastic

I've only seen a few episodes of family guy, I think that's the problem, it does seem to have a fair bit of potential though. As for SP, I love it :D

'My Family' is pretty funny, Top Gear is on tonight... Can't really think of any others. It's such a horrible day I think I will order a film. :(

Watched this the otherday on Bravo and it was hilarious.

During one bit, Dog had just caught a drug offender who had skipped bail and was about to let him go if he promised to go to rehab. The drug offender then nearly started crying and asked if anyone had told Dog to do this.

To which Dog then replied by pointing up at the sky and saying "Yes... someone has".

Comedy gold :p

On another note Arrested Development is absolutley brilliant you are missing out if you dont see it. The second series is better than the first aswell. Give it a try trust me :)

Also you need to see I Am Alan Partridge just for the quotability factor :p

I will second Arrested Development, it may not sound that great from the synopsis, but it is absoloutely fantastic (one of my favourite all time shows) - if you have seen Curb Your Enthusiasm (which I also recommend), it is like a scripted and slightly less cringeworthy version

Absolutely awesome series. Very much in the mould of Seinfeld but a bit less believable/out there. Absolutely hilarious characters. I'm already on my third watch through of the S1 boxset.

Buy the first two seasons of "The Wire" all 4 seasons of "The Shield" all three seasons of "Monk", All of "Due South" the first season of "supernatural".

That should keep you going.

Just wanted to say a huge thanks to "IceBus" for recommending Sleeper Cell, have watched the pilot and it's very good, would recommend this to anyone who hasn't seen it!

I have to agree with couple others. Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis good to watch but the 2nd 1/2 of the seasons are a lot better espicially in SG-1 like season 8 with reckoning, threads and moebius. And Season 9 with the last 2 eps and leading upto it. But later seasons they just cont with the last ep and while in the old season 1-4/5 each ep had it own story to go on and different cultures but it had an Egypt backround.
