Two Adaptec raid cards in the same PC?

Only problem I can think of is if you want to boot off one of the cards - you might need to mess about with Int13 settings or the order of the cards in the slots to get the system to boot the right card.
 
I get past one of the adaptec bios then it just hangs, both cards have runtime bios disabled, so there not acting as a boot device.

they are running on a ASUS P5E3 WS Pro if that helps, tried swapping PCI-e slots.

the 31605 which is in PCI-E slot 2 if I change the card around the boot screen i see is for slot 2 again so would be the 5405
 
Interesting....

This is a real stab in the dark. I assume you're using a PCI graphics card, is there an option in the Asus BIOS to set what the primary graphics card is and is it possible to set that to PCI rather than one of the PCIe slots?
 
yes im using PCI gfx card

all iv seen on the bios which has anything to do with graphics is this

thats the only thing you can change and it doesnt seem to make any diff.
 
Oh well, it was a long shot at best.

I'll need to have a think about this one. In the meantime it might be worth posting something at Storagereview.com
