You have still missed the point though.
Holding to ransom means he's got something over the club and they can't live without him.
Fergie and the board could have told him to go and the fans at the time would have accepted it.
He did not hold them to ransom.

You expressed suprise and disbelief ("what? how?") at the suggestion Rooney "held United to ransom". I ran on the assumption that you didn't know what occured with Rooney, as surely someone that disagreed would just, y'know... disagree rather than ask questions, and I explained it to you.

Fair enough you may have known, but since when does me explaining the facts on a reasonable but ultimately incorrect assumption that you didn't know mean a) I am 'missing the point' and b) I tacitly agree with what was said, even though I have explicitly stated by now that I do not. :confused:

everyone knows there's swearing all the time , and expect to hear it at a game, but its very rear you hear it at home on tv unless you lip read the players or you get some mouthy player come up to the camera!

so the viewers at home get the abuse from the player who gets the abuse from the fans in the stadium , yeah that makes sense mate!

No, they do not have the right, but other players apart from Rooney get abuse yet manage not to behave like apes. But then he's just a ***** from a ***** family.

Feel free to start a thread about those other players, this thread is about Rooney. Or should we list here every other instance of players reacting to abuse, just to be fair to Rooney?
