Hello

Intel have upped the standard clocks and turbo clocks on the already insanely quick i7 SandyBridge with a new CPU named the 2700K.

OcUK will have stock shortly so get in quick and buy one now to avoid any dissapointments with the small price rises that are happening over the intel range.

Intel's new Sandybridge based CPU's is a complete new refresh that requires new socket LGA1155 mainboards. This new platform uses less power and has vastly superior integrated graphics. The HD2000 graphics is capable of all multimedia task featuring DirectX 10.1 runtime making them ideal for gamers too. The K series edition processors are unlocked on the multiplier allowing overclocking and also feature HD3000 onboard graphics which feature twice the horsepower of the HD2000 making them ideal for gamers and have support for 3D Gaming. The new Sandybridge K series processors also feature immense overclocking as well.

- Lithography Process: 32 nm
- Cores: 4
- Threads: 8
- Frequency: 3.50 GHz (Turbo Mode 3.90GHz)
- Integrated HD 3000 (12 EUs) Graphics
- Integrated Graphics Frequency: 850MHz (1350MHz Turbo)
- Cache: 8 MB shared L3
- Memory Controller: Dual channel DDR3 800/1066/1333/1600 MHz
- TDP: 95W
- Socket: LGA1155
- Compatible with Socket 1156 heatsinks

***OVERCLOCKING GUIDELINES***

- Do not exceed 1.35-1.38v core voltage, doing so could limit lifespan of the CPU
- Do not overclock with BCLK, again doing so could limit lifespan of the CPU
- Recommended memory voltage is 1.50v, so make sure to run your memory at 1.50v, higher could limit lifespan of the CPU
- These recommendations come from OcUK and Intel, your warranty is un-affected but we highly recommend you adhere to the above to make sure your CPU lifespan is un-affected
- All Sandybridge CPU's worldwide should be run at the above or lower voltages, no higher!

over £20 more for a 100mhz overclock :| you can do more than that with the stock cooler of the 2600k!

i guess the only time it becomes worthwhile to spend £20 more on the same chip is when it's 4ghz @stock

I just can't understand why do Intel make another sandybridge i7 2700K (an extra 100MHz clock speed but the rest are same spec!) if it was 1000MHz extra stock speed @ 4.50GHz then I will buy it! But, for an extra 100MHz @ 3.50GHz, no thanks Intel.

Everyone releases a speed bump.
Except the price is ridiculous.

Not bad but I am sticking with my i7 930 for quite some time, it's running very happily at 4GHz and is plenty fast enough for what I want. Be interesting to some benches on those chips and see how far they can OC.

Hi there

The OEM CPU's have shipped, ETA is with us by Thursday. :)

These are first batch, should be extremely good clockers, fingers crossed these will do 5GHz+ on air with ease. :D
