ok, my friend ended it with this guy about 2 years ago now, and every day she gets about 80 text messages, some all through the night, some nasty, some nice, and a ton of voicemails. she has tried blocking his number but he just gets a different one. this has been going on for so long now she is really started to get depressed over it.

the guy is proper insane, every day he will text how he knows what he is doing is crazy and this is the last text, but sure enough, normally within minutes he is texting again.

is there anything that can be done, a restraining order for contacting someone?

but can, or will, they acrually do anything about it?

Two whole years of harrasment - I'd say they'd be interested.

Or do what I did and hire some 'heavies' just to warn them off, doesn't cost much, can be discreet and should solve the problem.

Think there is more than meets the eyes, she is obviously replying some times feeding the rl troll...

My advice, change HER number, problem sorted within hours, another hour or so updating everyone with new number (leaving the troll out).

Bish bosh bash, gravy and chips.

police should do something about it, it's harrassment and unsoliceted/unwanted contact, but yea, 2 years is a bit excessiveto have not done anything about it

If he's her ex though it's likely that he would know someone that he could get her new number from.

If its actually as serious as it sounds ( and its one of these things that always seem to get blown out of proportion) then some sort of restraining order is the way to go. Especially if theres a chance he is aggressive or would be violent.

I'd have changed my number about a week after this began, in fact, 80 texts a day? It'd have taken about 3 hours for me to get fed up and change it

she really doesn't want to for some reason, has the same number since she was a kid so is attached to it or something.

Don't want to sound harsh but it's her own fault then, if she's keeping the same number there's absolutely no way for her to stop him contacting her.
