Type-R FN2?

Ooh, didn't know the FN2 had cruise. I want a new car this year, something I can stick the dogs in the boot, have back seat room and not be too bad on the motorway. Was looking at the Mk5 R32 which seems to be falling under 10k, albeit with high mileage.

I don't think either the RX8 or the FN2 would be much fun on the Channel Islands. RX8 costs a lot to run although has the power in the right place, but you'll be throwing oil and fuel in much the same hooning as you would cruising around. The K20 engine isn't that great when you below VTEC, works out about 150bhp below 5500rpm. Depends how you think you can drive and get away with really with your restricted speed limits. I'd be looking more at a fun chassis than anything that doesn't need to go fast to thrill.

Agree with TW. You won't be doing the engine any good driving around at those speeds for a prolonged period of time as well.

1st only gets you to ~35, and then there's reverse too, so there's some VTEC fun still to be had. Sort of. :p

Blue on a Type R confuses me. It does look very good though.

it was a demo model... so they have to valet it first (couple of light scratches they gotta polish out too). :p but i promise i will upload some piccys when i get it in my driveway.. as techinically.. its not completely mine until its on my land ;)

vtec in reverse??? O_o serious?

i think it looks quite good in blue. might change the alloys.

anyone know of anywhere that does aftermarket parts for these things?
edit: like airboxes? and exhaust? i dont wanna make it loud loud though

funkypower do but if you wan't wheels the original offset is +55 PCD is 114.3, minimum offset that fits without spacers is +45 iirc. A popular choice is the Prorace 1.2 (touring FN2 uses these) and Rota GR6.
Have you got the Blade alloys(18") or Rages (19")

Airbox wise you could go for a HKS RSK, it's quiet until you hit VTEC. Many parts on here http://www.tdi-plc.com/catalog/parts-c-107_108_2719_2721.html

i believe the alloys are the 18" blades? the ones you see on most of the fn2 type-rs. awesome! i'll look into those :) thanks. any links to reputable websites?

I'll also take a look at that airbox. assuming that the car will drink more fuel if i put a new airbox on it?

Yeah that's what I got. Another supplier I use a lot and the service is great: http://www.sumopower.com/ They are also the official UK supplier of J's Racing parts.
Any official stuff you want you should get from here as they are the cheapest: http://www.coxmotorparts.co.uk/
Other than that I suggest joining civinfo.com it's a friendly forum and is a great source of information. I've learned so much from there.

I don't think the fuel is affected that much, I certainly haven't noticed so if there is any extra it must be negligible.

Nice, although it's a shame you're going to be very limited on driving it properly.

I think living on an island you'd get more fun out of something like this. :p

thanks mate :) you've been really helpful! i really appreciate your posts and am looking through those websites now. :) just wanting the vtec to sound a bit more throaty if you know what i mean. :p my friend has an S2000, and he just took the airbox off completely, and it sounded like a different car when he did. well in my opinion it did lol.
