i wouldnt be so slow to **** off, diesel engines are going to reign supreme, i have a vauxhall astra sri 150 bhp, remapped to 200bhp and it goes like poo off a spade, the torque is amazing... bhp is nice, torque is nicer, i bet the diesel type r will outperform the petrol version. vauxhall have already anounced they are making vxr diesels after the roaring success of thurlby 888s tuned my model into a car that can compete with a vxr but get double the fuel economy. diesel is the way ahead.
BMW have a 2.0 diesel in the 1 series that's chucking out over 200hp. Even GM have a 1.9 diesel with 180hpWow 180bhp :/
Awful awful dilution of brands, made even worse by the fact we dont get the proper type r's over here anywayHopefully some other car manufacturer will realise some people want the stripped out racer and provide it soon enough.

Who exactly wants one??, i see very few DC2 Tegs which afaik were the only proper Type-R's sold in this country
I don't think there is a limit like that on a diesel engine, but there probably is on the particular diesel fuel that we buy here in Europe. What is the theoretical limit a diesel can rev to anyway? I've read it's somewhere around the 5-6k rpm range,

Dunno but the amount that have been imported shows that there is a market for them over here.
Least it will have some torque unlike the other type R's.
