tyre slashing woes

Exercise your right to use reasonable force to protect your person and your property.

Remember when they have a knife, you can get away with a lot more inside "reasonable force".

Ah yes, attacking armed youths "because you can" is just such a good idea!

Death/serious injury or damage to some replaceable tyres... hmm...

tell the police that the next time it happens the poeple down the street will gang up on the kids doing it and murder them...

How about filming them, finding out who they are... and go slash their tyres?

Or maybe go a bit further, take their sump plug out ... or something equally as bad :)

Let your tyres down everynight, they might not slash them if they are flat.

Or take the wheels off everynight and leave it on axel stands. :p

cctv is problematic and theres the legal issues of advising the scroates their being filmed.

handily enough the father in law is a cctv installer but its a lot of hassle

My dad once fit his own little CCTV system and a spotter which could catch a lot, stopped a lot of problems as it turned on if someone came past the house from the opposite side of the road, very sensitive to movement.

Worth having as youc an rewind and find what you need, and if you screw your head on, get a little crappy pc to hold the film on it for you.

Delete everyday and start afresh, if anything does happen then you can just flick through the computer.

You could have like a "neighbor hood watch" meeting. Get together and put some money in the kitty to employ some thug (I guess thugs looking for employment will not be hard to find in that area) to guard all your cars. Supply them with baseball bats and your away.

no doubt they will lean on the car, so hook up the body work to a massive battery so they get a nice big electric shock :)
This won't work unless you use loads of batteries in series to create a high voltage... :p

What I would do is fill your tyres with concrete... This way you can still drive even if your tyres get slashed. ;)

Actually, an electric fence would do the job nicely.

When my dad worked at a garage in Kendal a farmer's landy came in for a set of plugs and a service. There was a leccy fence in the back, so they hooked it up and set the apprentice to work on the service. The dozy plank actually finished the service getting shocked every few seconds.

We dont live in a bad area really but the guy over the road from us has a Monaro so has a pretty epic CCTV system going on.

Luckily I park my car outside his house and it covers my car too. My own security system...:)
