Just leave some Bucky lying around near the car. Should distract them!
We dont live in a bad area really but the guy over the road from us has a Monaro so has a pretty epic CCTV system going on.
Luckily I park my car outside his house and it covers my car too. My own security system...![]()
Actually, an electric fence would do the job nicely.
When my dad worked at a garage in Kendal a farmer's landy came in for a set of plugs and a service. There was a leccy fence in the back, so they hooked it up and set the apprentice to work on the service. The dozy plank actually finished the service getting shocked every few seconds.
Don't you have to disconnect the battery for this to work?
Put a sign on the car saying "This car has no tyres"
tis true Olly although we did get the insurance on the LCR down to 590 a year FC for me and wifeynot bad for the east end of Glasgow i guess, unfortunately the cars are all parked on road (apart from the octavias which tend to be out working unless they've weent bang.

how about a sign in your side window saying "smile, you're on camera!"
solves:
a) notifying the little scrotes that they're being filmed, and;
b) possibly a big deterrant
You might not even have to bother with installing a camera...
