Uber eats do you ever tip

I always add 10% and then amend it afterwards if they mess anything up. If the delivery fee is mental to start with then I won’t bother.

Drivers dont get the delivery fee, I always tip unless they mess up or are clearly working for multiple apps and cause my food to arrive cold.

My friends boyfriend works for them and it's not a great way to make a living so every little helps. I'll always leave a big tip if the weather is bad.

I do from time to time if it's a big order as I get free delivery from the plus thingy that Amazon gave a free year of.

Try to avoid ubereats as much as possible, seems to be the worst for driver taking ages to deliver because they’re going all over town delivering to other people first, even if I’ve paid the extra for priority delivery.

I don't think I've ever tipped them through the app, may have given the odd person a quid or two at some point, but I've not used the app in months as JustEat refused to reverse a fraudulent transaction on my account even though they said they would multiple times.

No, mainly because they're flipping useless and I end up sitting on the phone with them for 10 minutes telling them to just drive down the road they're on. I'm trying to avoid human interaction!

Yea, usually throw them 10%. They are out there in bad weather, probably don’t have huge prospects and earn a pittance.
When I was in a delivery job (supermarket), getting a tip made your day. It was also pretty much only those in lower class areas that tipped.

Always avoid tipping where I can, I just don't like the concept of there being some kind of vague obligation to pay more for a particular service than the stated price as long as the service is somewhere above 'absolutely dreadful'.

I know takeaway delivery is probably a crap (second, I'd expect) job for the drivers and they might appreciate some extra money, but at the end of the day I'm already paying their wages by using the service - isn't that enough of a tip?

I guess I do occasionally tip where it feels natural for a 'nice' feeling eg tell a taxi driver to keep the change or whatever, but I can't really give a good reason for doing so :p. With delivery drivers it would partly not feel natural because I've already paid for the food online, so no money is changing hands at the time of delivery.

Uber eats is usually terrible around here, 9/10 times they don't bother picking the food up, I end up with multiple driver changes before someone finally gets it and then my food arrives an hour late and freezing cold. Strangely I never have this issue with deliveroo, they usually just go to the wrong road instead (because their app sends them there for some reason)
