ubuntu wireless help

Hi guys, I have an acer laptop and I am having trouble setting up the wireless. I am using WPA encryption and the eth0 activates ok but I dont know how to put a WPA passkey in.

I've never had much luck with WPA. Might be worth trying WEP as it has better support.

have a look at WPA-supplicant. Also there are a few guides, including one on the ubuntu wiki to setting up WPA if you bash "WPA ubuntu" into your trusty google search-box. Not using wireless on my linux box I cant really give any more info really. If I'm not too busy at work I might have a bash at it there as we need to document using WPA/ 802.1x under linux anyway.

ok i have the wpa supplicant installed and i can type my network ssid and wpa key in but it doesn't connect

please help

Need more info than that. Check the logs, what is the error?
