Have to admit, Shelvey looks out of his depth tonight. Great when given time and space but he's got caught on the ball way too many times already.

Easy half battering them, Suarez and Gerrard amazing link up like the old days of him and Torres in form.

Shelvey looks abit lost doesnt seem sure of himself.

Few players look a bit rusty but I'm very happy with a 2-0 lead as well as the way we've played so far :eek:

Suarez has been fantastic, Lucas is bombing around all over the place making tackles and Borini has settled very well. Shelvey and Downing look a class below their team mates and I expect both to lose their places in the coming weeks.

Id like to say the same but who comes in for them? We dont have much better at the moment and these new signings are coming quick

Allen for Shelvey and possible Dempsey for Downing although I'd want someone a bit younger and pacier.

Allen for Shelvey I suppose.

Downing should be moulded into a center mid, his passing is decent enough. His shooting is sometimes not bad but he has no attributes whatsoever that a winger requires.

Very happy with the way we played. Made a nice change, Borini looks promising, glad to see Lucas back and Suarez is a crafty as ever. I agree with the comments before about Shelvey looking a bit out of his depth. He's a good player but didn't fit in quite right.

Decent performance but we've got to take into account the standard of the opposition. The biggest plus for me though (along with Lucas's full return) was the pace, movement and energy of Suarez and Borini. I can see them causing defenses all sorts of problems. It would be nice to have a 3rd player in that mould to complete the front 3 though.
