UEFA Champions & Europa League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [12th - 14th April 2022]

When are the authorities going to start punishing this kind of behaviour from football teams?

It sets such a bad example to all the young fans watching the match.

Rugby would never stand for it. Disgusting behaviour and that's why it's a chav sport.

What’s the old saying, football is a gentleman’s game played by thugs and rugby is a thugs game played by gentlemen

He was but that’s flat out assault. Let’s not pretend rugby isn’t full of thugs as well.
I’m not, there are without a doubt some bad eggs in rugby, but it happens far less than football because referees won’t stand for it, one of the biggest problems with football is the lack of respect shown to the referees and lack of balls shown by the referees.

And the first 2 have never happened in football?
I've never seen somebody stick their finger up another players backside but you're missing the point. He's not saying these things don't happen in football, simply pointing out there's plenty of examples of Rugby players behaving like animals.

Which I said in a previous post, there are bad eggs in all sports. seem to remember vinnie jones grabbing Gazza by the nuts

Yee that one incident from about 30 years ago stands out because it was one pretty isolated incident 30 years ago.

Not because it happens every other week.
And a finger in the arse doesn’t happen every week, I have seen it reported once, much like the gazza incident.
But anyway we’re off topic, but the topic always seems to go this way when athletico lose in the latter stages of the CL, they are a horrible ****ish team
