Just watched the Villareal/BM highlights and it was ridiculous. There is only so much you can do as a manager when your players are intent on missing so many chances. Villareal put away their only good chance with a scuffed finish and Bayern wasted chance after chance.
This is why looking at how many trophies a manager has, especially in cups is silly. Bayern would have gone through 9/10 normally. Just poor finishing.

Yep. All the teams in the latter stages of the CL are more than capable of beating each other with only a small swing in luck or form on the day.

True, but when you look at the teams left in it not one of them will want to get Liverpool next. The only team Liverpool probably wouldn't want is Atletico. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see City out the running after being away to them with a 1 goal advantage.
The semis are already done. Liverpool, if they win of course, will face Villareal. We've already played Athletico twice this season, won both times so they shouldnt be an issue if both get to the final.
I can see Madrid beating City tonight aswell.

I just look at the team and don't see anyone beating them or having the consistency against the smaller teams in the same way. As I said before, I was confident on Liverpool beating City even at the Eithad. Even with a draw, They can't shake Liverpool off and they will drop more points against crap sides than liverpool will. If City get Liverpool in the CL, they will lose. If City had got Chelsea in the Semi's or Final I'd fancy City to bottle it again. I think they are a club that needs to avoid English opposition. If they had I think they would be multiple CL winners already. Liverpool for me just don't look like having those off days against a Palace that City will.
This might change when City get a genuine focal point or three but until then they are the second best team in Europe.
