Maybe we can have a Utd whingers thread and he can sit in there moaning to himself.

Not a great game to watch mind. Sherif working hard and closing down well, pretty organised.
 
Another laboured win. We still need to sort out our attacking flair. Currently Ronaldo and Fernandes are causing us a lot of issues.

Quite surprised Fred isn't getting more minutes as well.

LvG was all sideways possession. We lose the ball far too often to be compared to that. I have no worry that EtH will sort it out given time. I think he was far more concerned with how porous we were defensively so he prioritised that. I'm sure at some point he will focus on attacking more and we will start to look more cohesive.

Without Martial up top we struggle with intricate build up play.

Ronaldo needs taking behind a barn at this point.

If you mean being utter crap for the entire time he was on and his only contribution scoring a penalty that he didn't win then yes, he was a key part of the 2-0 win...

I thought both Ronaldo and Fernandes were pretty crap last night. Aside form the odd flash from Bruno he was either anonymous or wasteful. Ronaldo doesn't look like he offers anything much these days, beyond the histrionics of course. No doubt he'll pop up with the odd important goal and confound the critics for a week or two but I'm sort of done with the show and am ready to move on.

Some people could watch Ronaldo stink up the team for 6 months, he would score a hat-trick and they would point at that as proof he still has it. He shouldn't be anywhere near the starting XI unless we have injuries. Thankfully I think EtH knows that.

Bruno will need to buck his ideas up at some point or he will be replaced as well. He has everything required to work in an EtH side apart from knowing when to stick and when to twist. His work rate is very good, hes just wasteful. Thats fine in a team looking to win games through a few good efforts but not so good if you want to start to dominate games and put teams to bed through team effort.

Its just not working for cr7 right now.

I will say one thing though and it was clear in the Brighton match and others too.

When Rashford was up front , it was poor and we looked weak. As soon as cr7 came on it was like a revelation. He was able to hold up the ball, distribute it better and we just looked all round better.

Now, he can't make those orsic style runs from the half way line, beating a defender and dink the keeper because we'll have just doesn't have the overall speed and stamina to do it.

Is he a threat in the box? An ariel threat? Yes can he link play better than Rashy? Yes.

Would we be better if he was replaced with Haaland or Vlahovic or another top player who moved recently? Yes. Can he be a second half impact sub? Yes.

Can we pay 400k a week to a 30 minute impact sub? Nope.
 
I feel like everytime Fernandes's AND Ronaldo start it's takes something away from Bruno. Like he feels he cannot step on Ronaldo's toes.

He always seems to perform better when they are separate. The future is Bruno not Ronaldo.

Yeah, I think their national team links make it hard for Bruno to ignore Ronaldo when he should. Personally I think that Portugal will become a better international side when Ronaldo retires as well. They have some quality forwards that 100% should be ahead of Ronaldo at this point.

There are rumblings that if Ronaldo goes in January we will have a sizeable fund to bring in a new striker to replace him. The whole thing was just idiotic beyond belief when you think about it. We already had an ageing striker in Cavani and he was playing well. After Ronaldo arrived he seemed to just check out. Now we're stuck with a £400k/week paperweight for potentially the whole year.
