I think he will get the most points since SAF retired. At the moment we are on course for 77 points but we had a horrible start and had Ronaldo. If Sunday goes to plan I think we will kick on and get over the 81 that Jose got in 17-18. Add Qatari ownership and a few top players in the summer we got to be serious title contenders next season.

He really is playing so well. What I love about him is not only the intensity he brings but also the decision making, passing and calmness. Hes like a rabid dog when you want him to be and calm as anything when the situation dictates. The older I get the more I appreciate what truly good players have that others don't. Situational awareness. Its the reason the top players have time and space when there isn't any. They always have a good mental image of where the opposition and their own teammates are and rarely get caught out. They adapt.

There were a number of times in that game where the likes of Maguire or Lindelof would have either dithered on the ball or just booted it long. Martinez in almost every situation knows when to stick and when to twist. There were a few occasions where he was in trouble and trying to play his way out was dangerous so he cleared the ball. Other times he held onto it and made a nice pass up the pitch to another player or simply held onto it.

Football is a simple game at its core but its all those little moments and decisions that add up to have a big effect on the game. Where we look panicked and out of control under pressure with Maguire and Lindelof we quickly regain composure with Martinez and Varane. Where we used to hoof and hope we now have far more direction to our play from the back. There is still a long way to go and loads of improvements to be had in the squad but Martinez has been worth every penny and more.

A truly top class RB and we would have a brilliant defence. AwB is still a goldfish so much of the time.
