Because VAR will always have the same issues with offside. If you say the player can be 5m ahead of the defender, you still have to measure 5m. There is still 5.01m and 4.99m. Giving the benefit of the doubt to the attacker with a little leeway is a good change but ultimately doesn't change the fact that a marginal call is a marginal call.
As soon as they showed the freeze frame before they went for the VAR check it was pretty obvious it was close. I certainly would have changed my level of certainty.
