UEFA Champions & Europa League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [3rd - 5th May 2022]

A real tale of 2 halves from us, horrific in the 1st with so many players misplacing simple passes and being so passive. Can't remember the last time we had a game where the likes of VVD, Thiago, Fabinho, Ali were all off the boil at the same time. Big shout out to Villarreal who had a great 1st half but it looked as if that half really caught up to them in the 2nd as they were nowhere near as dynamic. As good as they were though both goals had huge slices of luck involved, and unfortunately that luck deserted them with their keeper having a horrible half.

Big props to Klopp and the staff who with a few tweaks and bringing Diaz on changed the game.

Great game to watch knowing the result. Onto the final!

Was an astonishing game to watch. Villareal where superb in that first half, pure magic on the ball. That second half though... Liverpool a dream to watch.

As much as I'd like to see City bomb out tonight, having a City v Liverpool final would be deliciously poetic.

Echo the thoughts about City to be honest. I would love Madrid to batter City 4-0 however I don't think it'll happen. :p

Last thing I want in a European cup final is to see two English sides facing each other. We see that every week.

Villareal just ran out of steam in the second half. Liverpool made some tweaks but VR just fell off a cliff. They left gaping holes everywhere and a fitter Liverpool side tore them apart.

I've maintained liverpool are winning all four this season and I stick by it. Cannot see Chelsea winning the FA cup as they week by week come apart at the seams. City get beat tonight and then implode and win nothing. Amazing to think Klopp is a handful of games from everyone having to acknowledge this will be the greatest team ever assembled in English football and possibly Europe. It helps that outside the top 2 the standard is drivel but still this will be some achievement.

Not going to happen. Chelsea will pull out a masterclass, City will spank RM and win the CL and League and Liverpool will finish with nothing!

I have sacrificed the correct number of goats for the above to happen.

Even without any of the trophies, its hard to argue that these City and Liverpool teams aren't the best ever.

With regards Man City, I just don't think they can be discounted so easily. Of course, it's possible they loose tonight and it taints the last few games of the season for them enough to pave the way for a Liverpool victory, but I'm not going to put too much stock into that opinion. They're too consistent and have as much squad depth as Liverpool to pull from with a manager who has not and will not allow any loss to creep into the teams mindset.

I'd love nothing more then for Liverpool to get the quad, but it's still far from a certainty.

Normally I'd agree, but with the PL race being what it is at the moment I absolutely welcome it.

Still won't shed too many tears if they're knocked out though. Being a Villa fan I'd have it come down to penalties with Grealish missing the decider, then in the final match of the season we smash the odds at the Etihad, steal the 3 points and allow Liverpool to take the title... there's a vision I can get behind xD
