UEFA Champions & Europa League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [5th - 7th November 2024]

Say what you like regards Ruud he is currently getting results and thats what counts, the defending is still dog turd though.

He isnt the best tactician we was on a downwards trend with Ten Hag maybe he lucky with the new man in charge bounce, hopefully players respect him more being a legend of the club.

Man Utd XI: Onana; Mazraoui, Lindelof, Evans, Dalot; Casemiro, Ugarte; Diallo, Fernandes, Garnacho; Hojlund.

Evans and Lindelof starting.
Pleased Diallo is starting. I hope he can have an impact but I expect more of the same turgid ten Hag ball. Mount and Antony back on the bench. No doubt Mount will ocme on for ten minutes so he can pick up another injury.

First part came true...

Mount on now with 10mins to go....

Poor opposition though, only Chelsea at home

Mount...

Over a million a month and contracted until 2028. Thankfully though we have the option to extend it by a year.

Good business that.

Did you forget we was losing to poor opposition under Ten Hag

It's been 3 games
Leicester b team and PAOK , Chelsea was only decent opposition at home

You think it would be better with Ruud if he had like more games? The play style hasn't changed

RvN has been no improvement at all, we've had easier games but we look the same as we did before.

Hard to disagree. Very very glad we are giving Ruud the rest of the season. Perhaps he would do better with a run of games but we looked just as bad as ever tonight. This is why I feel kind of bad for EtH. This is the sort of game he would have drawn and Ruud is going to win. Its just luck. Lucky finish for Amads second and they should have scored.

Meh I don't feel bad for EtH.

Team is in a right mess.

AMAD!!!!!

Well to be fair - he's undefeated in 3.
Ten Hag wouldn't have started Amad tonight. He's have stuck with Garnacho and Rashford. So kudos to Ruud for recognising a change that could make a difference.

Says who? Ten Hag started Amad plenty, and RvN has ignored him for two matches. Results are one thing but you have to look at the performances too. Tonight was no better than the draw vs Twente, PAOK just missed an easier chance than the one Twente scored and Amad pulled out a piece of magic at the end. It wasn't Ruud that made any difference.
