UEFA Champions & Europa League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [7th - 9th November 2023]

Not really any different to smashing someone in the face with an elbow when jumping for a header.
You can not even know the other guy is there but if you’re endangering another player then it’s a red. Accident or otherwise.
Jesus I wonder why they're ruining football with this stupidity then I speak to fans like you.

Soon as anything negative happens players heads drop bunch of tarts.

Not a sending off Rashford is protecting the ball can't give that.
How have their heads dropped? Honestly. some fans are deluded. There are plenty times this team has been soft but I 'm not convinced that tonight is one of them. We've dominated the game but been reduced to 10 men and then conceded a soft penalty again. Get behind the team man.

He's not just stepped on a player by accident, he's gone in on the guy's ankle
‘He’s gone in on the guys ankle’ sounds like it was intentional when it clearly wasn’t. He’s gone in to shield the ball and caught the player. He coulda stepped on the guys toes and it likely wouldn’t be a red but because he’s caught his ankle it makes it look a whole lot worse and most refs are giving red there after looking at VAR.

The point I was trying to make is that "he accidentally stepped on him" is irrelevant, what matters is how much force he applied and how/where.

I don't agree with it, but it's clearly how the rules are now being applied, it's been fairly consistent, and everyone currently has to live with it

Your kidding as soon as we are down to 10 we fell apart how about keeping it tight.

We was doing very good up until then but as soon as something negative happens this team falls apart.

AWB got sent off last season for an equally pointless one. He even got the ball but was classed as dangerous play.

If we can get a win here then all we need is a result against Galatasaray and we have qualified. If not we need points against Bayern as well.
