UEFA Champions/Europa League Qualifying 20/21/22 August *** Spoilers ***

Good save Chezzers. Anyway yeah, definitely need more numbers - I don't doubt the players we have can win plenty of games, but we need to spread the load over the course of a season, particularly given the injury-prone nature of our influential players.

Kinda too late to buy several players, a striker should be the first priority at this point in the transfer window.

Not as far as I'm concerned, Giroud is a decent player and Podolski also prefers to play through the middle which is probably what would happen if Giroud was unavailable for selection. We're crying out for a right back to replace Sagna, possibly another central defender and we really need a properly defensive midfielder, those are the signings we really NEED right now in my opinion.

The issue is still there though. Our first team arent too bad and will give most teams a run for their money but we are two games in and already playing with a RB as CB...enough said.

We need GK, CB, real winger and a striker. Not just some french kid but someone who you think give him the ball and he will score.

Good result for Arsenal tonight, CL football for another year but please add some numbers to the squad Wenger.

PS: Forgot about DM too.

PSS: Not the grumpy DM... ;)

Good to see the team perform today, but it could do with a little work (mainly numbers, rather than replacements).

Pogba, Konsogbia and Sakho please. Still think Benteke is worth whatever Villa want, the lads a goal machine.

Great result for Arsenal, job done and more or less in the group stages now.

Still need to strengthen the squad though. Hopefully this will hive us some impetus for our game against Fulham on the weekend.

Kos has been taken to hospital. Apparently he was cut to the bone and they need to make sure there isn't a fracture.

On a side note, he is yet to misplace a pace in the first two games this season. 41/41

EDIT:

Wenger said:
Koscielny in hospital. We have to check that no bone is broken. He opened the skull, it's very deep. Hopefully we get good news."

Man of the match for me was Ramsey, anyone else agree??. Thought he was superb in the middle of the park, made the right passes, made some decent tackles and scored a goal to boot. Tonight he looked like the player he was before that thug at Stoke broke his leg, i gave him a lot of stick last season but tonight he was immense. Hopefully he can carry his good form for the rest of the season.

Oh chase for Suarez is definitely finished, shame its taken Wenger this long to finally admit defeat. On one hand im relieved but on the other hand i just think about the targets we missed out on ie Higuain for example.

i approve

What would have Suarez done last night? Nothing wrong with Girud. He just doesnt get the ball much from the midfielders

Well unlike Giroud, Suarez can hold the ball, dribble and score whereas Giroud from what i have seen cant really dribble adn get away from a defender...maybe now and again he does but doesnt do it very well.

We really need another Henry type of player, someone who can run, dribble and score.

But you are right, he didnt get much service last night...a shame that none of our backs can cross the ball properly into the middle where Giroud is.

Lloris; Naughton, Dawson, Kaboul, Rose; Capoue, Paulinho; Townsend, Dembele, Sigurdsson; Soldado

Did not expect Lloris, Dembele, Sig or Soldado to play from the off, I suppose a gelling exercise still.

Not a bad team

Subs Friedel, Fryers, Walker, Carroll, Chadli, Coulthirst, Kane

Not much to change the game there, Carroll and Chadli maybe. Defoe missing out is odd.

Also expect one of Sig or Dembele out of position now.

I assume Sig will play left wing.

Would like to see more of Tom Carroll but he must be quite a way down the pecking order now.

Defoe might be missing because of the court case surrounding the death of his cousin.
