Arsenal won't be getting hammered.
Why does everything underrate Arsenal so much?
A 140+ mil wage a season, this team is terrible. There isn't another team in europe spending over 100mil a year on wages that hasn't won something in 8 years(I probably didn't make that up). Dortmund weren't even spending 100mil when they beat Bayern, the Italian teams have all won various things. Is there a top four team in any league other than us that has gotten to less finals in 8 years?
In terms of beating midtable/bottom sides and being a fairly good team ignoring money/size/power/ability to attract players, sure, we're doing better than most. But in terms of spending what is highly likely to be close to 150mil on wages which don't forget, Arsenal fans are paying through the teeth to support.... we are shockingly awful. Top four teams in Spain have gotten to cup finals, Atletico won the Europa cup, have gotten to the equivalent of FA cup finals and certainly over the past 8 years other teams than Real/Barca have won the cup. Arsenal's record is make no mistake, utterly abysmal.
Should we win the league every year, no, should we compete, yes, far far closer than we have been. Likewise we should have gotten to more finals in more serious cups and really should have won a couple bare minimum.
Arsenal are both fully capable of being thrashed, and fully capable of beating Fenebache, both because Fenebache aren't particularly good and you have no idea which Arsenal will turn up, professional Arsenal or bumbling idiots ARsenal.
