UEFA Champions League and Europa League Knockout Games **Spoilers**

So is rugby... its a spectrum. Its not contact or no contact. If you make a tackle in the box, miss the ball and take out the player there is a good chance you will give away a penalty unless the ball ends up in the back of the net after your foul.

Unless its anybody else. Thats the point being made. United are getting pens not normally given.

football is a contact sport buddy.

You don't say? Also buddy, when you make contact that's either late, out of control, or overly aggressive then the ref gives a foul. In this example, the player made a late challenge in the box.

Christ I need to start putting money on United getting a penalty, incredible how many they've had.

I haven't seen it yet as BT can **** off.

Stop looking at it through the lens of fouls outside the box, to give a penalty (a certain goal), you need to have a foul which denies a 'likely' goal scoring opportunity.

There was no likely goalscoring opportunity, Rashford took the shot, he wasn't impeded in any way at all from taking the shot or shooting into the net, Rashford missed.

As a defensive team, you'd feel very hard done by with that decision, as an offensive side, you'd be like "meh"...fair do's that wasn't given.

Rashford needs to come off. Looks disinterested or tired or something. Not at the races today

Goal scoring opportunity has nothing to do with it

You can quite literally be just inside the 18 yard box with your back towards goal and have someone go through the back of you and you'll be awarded a penalty.

Pogba conceded a penalty when he handled in the area and that wasn't goal scoring opportunity as it would have clattered into his face. The penalty correctly stood though.

Anyway this is the last I'll be engaging with you on the subject as it's clearly pointless with that gem. We've been awarded plenty of non penalties this season, such as the one against Villa and also the one against Copenhagen.

If thats a handball we need to be allowed to sub on armless men for free kick walls.
