UEFA Champions League and Europa League Knockout Games **Spoilers**

Sevilla are solid at knockout football

I would agree if this game wasn't lost almost entirely by our own actions. We should have put away one of our 5-6 good chances and we should be able to defend better than a 3rd devision side for their second goal.

English teams' collective performance in Europe takes the varnish off Liverpool's premiership victory...there really was no viable competition. Apart from Liverpool, English teams are proper gash. All going through transition or at the end of the cycle.

yea, but its part of knockout football, taking your chances and keeping cool and calm instead of letting nerves get the better of you.

Pogba had a good game though i thought

Sancho in this side tonight would have just added a few figures to the 'Attempts' stat. The problem tonight was an in form front line that failed to score from open play, again and again.

What a load of rubbish. Ole waited for far too long to make substitutions, the team were obviously tired after the pressure didn't come to anything. I wonder if it was partly Ole sending the board a message about the lack of strength in depth.

Fair play to Sevilla, they hung on when they were really under pressure and then started to get the better of us. Having said that, they're a very dislikeable team with all their diving and asking for cards, hopefully they get thumped in the final.

Well on the plus side, DDG didn't drop a clanger :P

AWB was awful.

Our bench sucks. People that knock Ole for not making changes...who is he supposed to bring on to improve the team? The only quality players on the bench are Matic and Romero. Everyone else makes the team worse.

AWB basically means we play with 10.5 men. He gives us some decent defence on occasion, but literally offers nothing else. How can he not develop his game beyond that? I remember someone saying he gets a nosebleed after the halfway line, it’s so true!

And agree Robbo, think Pogba did one decent pass which Rashford then fluffed as always and just jogged to keep his jog stats up.

Not clinical in attack.

Woeful in defence.

Pitiful game management from the staff.

Not really a surprise...

The squad just isn't good enough unfortunately, especially the back four. AWB is usually resolute in defending, but doesn't offer anything out wide going forward. Brandon Williams needs to go out on load as he just isn't first team quality yet at all, he lacks both defensively and going forward. Daniel James, well, I wouldn't even say going on loan would help as I can't see any prospects in him at all... he just, runs?

Buying Jadon Sancho isn't going to plug any of these issues unless he somehow makes us into Barcelona of yesteryear where they would just simply score more than they conceded, clearly that isn't going to happen. I honestly want to see Bailly getting a chance along side Maguire, I know he can be rash but I think his positional play is fantastic, he's good with his feet and he's not slow either.

It sometimes just about breaking up the flow and bringing players on that Sevilla aren't used to. He waited til the 87th minute, painful stuff!

The only subs that it’s any good bringing on that late are defensive subs if you’re winning.

Subs should have been made earlier or least when Sevilla scored their second.

I think it confirmed the current level that United are at to be fair. At least two players short of contending for honours. However you can't do this stuff overnight and at least we have competed which looked unlikely back in January. Central midfield still isnt solid enough in games like this. Fred did ok tonight in certain facets but thats not enough in games at this level. Pogba hasn't really dominated a game for over twelve moths. I can't understand Savage saying how well he played. He was an average 6/10 and thats what he has been for a long time. If we had squad depth Rashford would not have started the last two matches. He's been really poor. I also agree with the angst over AWB - I think he is possibly the most stupid footballer I have seen at this level. Apart from the odd lunging tackle he's not offering much of an upgrade on Young or Valencia. It's a shame Williams has been marooned out at left back as I think he might keep AWB a bit more honest.

Anyway lets look forward to next season. At least we've made some progress.

Look at the defending for their second goal, just shocking.

Its a little bit unfair from the commentators, Maguire has to be positioned between the near post and Williams, if Williams gets beaten one on one, then the Sevilla player is in, and Maguire won't be able to get across in time. Maguire doesn't know Navas is going to cross that ball. Lindelof is the correct spacing away form Maguire, AWB needs to cover round like Ince said, thats the biggest mistake. But on the other hand its a superb ball, literally perfect
