UEFA Champions League/Europa League 1/2/3 October *** Spoilers ***

A draw isn't too bad, but our entire midfield and wide areas tonight were utterly terrible. Just totally absent for almost the entire game.

RvP and Rafael looked the only players with some kind of ability and if it wasn't for some fairly solid defending from the likes of Vidic at times we'd have surely lost.

The likes of Kagawa and Nani need to be playing, let Carrick/Fellaini/whoever handle the more defensive stuff, but Valencia and Welbeck aren't going to drive us forward and cut defences apart. They were just dire. So dire.

Is utd really this bad because of moyes?

No we are bad because our squad is getting pretty rubbish and filled with average/old players.

We obviously made up for the lack of talent by having a fantastic manager in Fergie but now he is gone and we have Moyes in, the cracks are beginning to not only show, but full on open.

Happy with that result

Dont buy into all this bullcrap your hearing that under Fergie we would have thrown on 12 forwards with 10 minutes to go and gone for it. Fergie would have played it cagey as hell just like Moyes.

Fellaini just doesn't even look worth 2m let alone 27m. He's hardly helping us at winning the ball back and when he gets the ball he loses it far too easily.

That's true, but we need to buy some new players, preferably in January, for sure. A lot of the time some of our players barely look like footballers.

Yup, the reason no one had any intention of buying him at all for the previous five years is he was pretty crap. He had, as every Everton fan here and anywhere else would say, 5-6 great games a year, rest, meh. Those 5-6 games weren 99% great games offensively, not defensively. He's big... thats about where his talent starts and finishes.

Last year he scored more than normal because Moyes played him upfront during his peak scoring period due to injuries, I can't remember, I'm sure he scored 70+% of his goals(which wasn't that many) before xmas when he really didn't get played upfront again and was pretty rubbish after that.

It's amazing how scoring a few goals early in the season somewhat establishes the reputation has for that player all year. Nasri was great for 3 months, rubbish for another 6 and got a 20+mil move then people realised he's a bit meh(for that kind of money). So often if a player is great for the first couple months people will act like they're a great player and continue to act that way all season even if they are rubbish for the rest of it. Honestly he'd do more for you further forward, I think he's pretty poor positionally in terms of defending and technique for tackling is well, running into someone and throwing an elbow.

Agreed.

Dropped far too deep at times. The game cried out for Rooney or Kagawa playing off RvP.

Rafael looked good, Smalling looked award on the ball. As much as some scousers on here going on about Shaktar aren't all that, to be fair, they pinged it about pretty well in the final 3rd and a number of their players would walk into top four sides right now

Srna, Douglas Costa, Taison
