UEFA Champions League/Europa League 12/13/14/15 March *** Spoilers ***

Great attempt by Arsenal. Nearly pulled off a display to match the milan win

Bayern played like chumps not champs. They out classed us at home but even their own fans would have been embarrassed by their display. Pitiful diving throughout their whole team.

Are 'we' naive or something? It always seems to be the English sides that suffer because of this away goals rule :o

Why? Aside from tonight, they've been excellent. Would be well deserved, particularly considering the final last year.

Their attitude tonight made me think they'd already won the tie. Not really putting in any effort, until they realised they might actually lose. Last years final was hilarious. It was great to see the Drog equalise. Such a tank.

Hoping for a Dortmund win, but that's unlikely. Wouldn't actually mind seeing Real win it.

Fabianski should have a run in the league on the back of that, I know he didn't do anything really outstanding, he did make a few decent reaction saves though, denied Robben twice and just did the basics quite well. His kicking is still crap but I'd like to see him play more. Maybe that will give Szczesny a bit of a wake up call.

He has always been a good shot stopper. I think he did enough to start in the next game. So he will probably be dropped :p

Well lets be honest we all thought we were going out until that second goal went in.

Hopefully we can take this win and use it to have a good run in the league.

I think everyone would like to see Dortmund win it, lack of experience will probably be their undoing sooner or later though. A Barca v Real final at Wembley would be pretty epic (although unlike you though I dont want to see Real win it)

Malaga in the pot for the QF draw on Friday, they look a decent team capable of causing an upset. It be great if they get drawn against PSG, knowing that the owners of PSG were once owners of Malaga and pulled out leaving them in a fragile state.

I love that Neuer dived on the ball, got jumped on by about 8 players, 5 seconds later appeared with ball in hand. He's quite a big lad.

Proud of Arsenal, very proud...didn't expect us to beat Bayern at home but brilliant result seeing as most including me thought we would get royally shafted.

Unlucky we didn't score a third..soo close with the amount of chances we had but again lacking the killer touch in the end. Was very impressed with our defensive play tonight, looked very tight and didn't give Bayern many chances to score.

Went out on away goals..shame we didn't score a second at Emirates in the first round :(

But hopefully our performance tonight can galvanise the squad and make a final push for a CL place.

Great effort from Arsenal. At least commanded the respect of the rest of Europe for at least one night. Maybe that result will set them in the right direction for the rest of the season.

Do you mean the 2 shots on 2 shots off we had? Though it depends on the source of stats, I think it was 5 or 6 shots max, Bayern stats range from 17 to 20+ shots.

It was a very good header by Kos, and the early goal was flukey as anything. I don't rate Alaba, both legs he was poor, but it took a massive slip early in the game for Walcott to do anything, the rest of the game he was as usual, ******* awful, though after he went off it was funnily enough Muller that had the biggest Walcott moment, stepped on the ball and fell over :p

Muller was the only Bayern player who looked like he wanted to win, made crosses and chances out of nothing. Robben looked like he wanted to play but looked really out of form, so many chances he should have scored a few. His best chance came when Gibbs and Mert utterly fell asleep to the blatantly obvious throw in and Jenks did amazingly well to get across and put him off/block half the goal and gave Fab a good chance of saving.

We were poor, we created very few chances, Bayern were terrible, couldn't be arsed and created 20 shots and 4-5 excellent chances, they should have smashed us tonight while they barely bothered to play, I wouldn't call any part of that a good Arsenal performance or anything to be proud of. A team can't be arsed, a stadium of fans that think its a foregone conclusion and are barely awake, and we concede 20 or so shots....

Overall against a team that didn't show up, according to sky we had 2 shots on target, 2 off, 1 corner, and 1 offside, 6 cards a 76% pass completion and conceded 25 fouls with 46% possession.

Bayern, a team that didn't care had 5 shots on, 12 off, 6 corners, 3 yellows, 81% pass completion, conceded 13 fouls and had 55% possession.... a team that didn't even try very hard.....

We got two goals, Gervinho was the next best chance, outside of that nothing at all, we got one lucky as hell goal, one great headed goal and were insanely lucky to not concede. Funny thing is, had we won the first leg 2-0, we'd likely have been utterly demolished in the second leg, thats how football goes. Its a two legged tie, Milan/Bayern won the game(effectively) in the first 90 and didn't care about the second 90, Arsenal lost in the first 90 and cared, tried and failed both times in the second 90. We were the better team for 10 mins, and Bayern looked the most likely to score for the other 80, had the most chances, the most possession, and the best chances.

I'm embarrassed that the only time we can do well in these games, is in a second leg the other team doesn't care about, theres very little to be proud of in that.

@drunkenmaster
Totally OTT rant as usual then. I'd be amazed if I see the day where you actually don't post in the same mundane way. Yawn.

Take the positives here surely. We won 2-0 away from home against Bayern. I mean come on. Give the guys a break? We played fine. The main aim should have been to keep a clean sheet, and we looked much more organised tonight with players missing. Give them some credit.

Ref was awful, handing out yellows for sneezing. Artetta I agree was setting a poor example at the end lashing out. Walcott - the man you so claim to do nothing - did do something. Let me think what was it. It's coming to me.... oh yeah...set up a goal, and nearly another. That is his function.

We played with pride and passion and kept at them the whole time. Heads did not go down. We took the game to them and played a solid game to not conceed. We had minimal chances yes but took them when they came. That was a professional performance. It was not to be, but we can take back to the Premier the fact that we can remain solid when required and a clean sheet, if we put our minds to it.

What id like to see happen in the QF draw:

Bayern vs Barca
Dortmund vs Real
Galatasaray vs Juve
Malaga vs PSG.

Bayern and Barca would be a dream QF along with Dortmund and Real imo.

One thing im glad is that defensively we looked pretty good, sure Bayern had a few chances but thank **** for Jenks, he made some blinding tackles...seriously Wenger needs to start playing him rather than Sagna.

Was shocked to see Gervinho do something decent for a change, just a shame no one was on the end of that ball.

Beat almighty Bayern 2-0, something a lot of teams in Europe havent been able to do;). So it proves that we can compete with the big guns of Europe, we just need a few more decent players and i think we could be set. Am hoping for some big signings come this summer, lets see if Arsenal/Wenger really have £70 odd mill to spend as they keep saying we do.

One thing that infuriated me tonight was the interviewer, whatever his name with Jenks after the game...8 yrs and still no trophy??..**** off you imbecile of a interviewer...good thing Jenks put him in his place by saying we are not here to talk about that after the result we got. Same fool asked Wenger the same question, was half expecting Wenger to go all rage mode on him and punch his lights out:p
